This is probably an unpopular take, but while Citi Field is a wonderful ballpark, it wasn't built for me. It was built for people who missed the Brooklyn Dodgers. Any real sense of Mets history was ignored for the most part. It's improved over the years, and the aesthetics are wonderful, but I've never felt at home there. Shea Stadium was my home, and I truly miss it.

Those on the right that are hard core Trekkers, have long known the leftward lurch Trek has been. But unlike Academy, the older shows (except S1 Picard, and STD) did not have that as a main thrust. the lectures and the moralistic attitude is old. I don't give two whoops about a Trans character or a "Gay Klingon", nor anyone "of color" being a captain... When you include characters that were wiped out in the 1960's (Cherons: Let That Be Your Last Battlefield) or a female Jem'Hadar, and DELIBERATLY breaks canon (to be original, and "destroy the patriarchy) , then the intent is long lost. What infuriates me the most is when those characters are geared to tell me how WRONG and how "phobic" I am. Kurtzmann and the gang don't know me from shit! They don't know my life, they don't know my experiences, or beliefs, and aligning me with some stereotypical trope from the left of "MAGFAKS" or whatever term they want to come up with including their unbridled hate of anyone not "in their club", Its lost on me. Left wing, right wing, no wing, I don't give two shits. I DO care about being lied to, gaslit, and deliberately mischaracterized by a movement that holds itself so tightly, that any disagreement within THIER OWN ranks, causes one to become an outcast. And THAT is pushed as entertainment? Thanks I'll pass.

Unlike most “Star Trek Fans,” I like Trek that isn’t TOS and TNG. I loved Voyager and Enterprise. I thought Picard and even Discovery had great arcs. And even I think this show is trash. It’s moralistic and preachy. It’s cringe. The characters fall flat. It’s a complete betrayal of everything that makes Star Trek good.
