Yesterday, I was honored to co-host a 100th birthday celebration for friends and colleagues of the great William F. Buckley, Jr. Yes, that's an edible Buckley stamp cake! We toasted repeatedly to WFB and how he, the Happy Warrior, changed the world! @pjtray @jer120

In celebration of William F. Buckley, Jr.'s 100th Birthday, today I release a recording, dedicated to him, which I made on his Bösendorfer piano in NYC several months after he passed away in 2008. This includes an introduction by Linda Bridges, @NRO's legendary editor and WFB righthard, who arranged for the recital. Linda passed away in 2017. Here's my article about the recording with a link to the album in the comments section. Beethoven’s "Diabelli," a WFB favorite, is the centerpiece of the album. @NR_Institute @FiringLineShow @JamesRosenTV @JamesPanero @jackfowler @pjtray @RBrookhiser @WashTimesOpEd @thedispatch @kathrynlopez @continetti open.substack.com/pub/lawrencepe…

LISTEN to me play J.S. BACH on William F. Buckley, Jr.'s Bösendorfer piano! Here is the first track from the album which I will release on Nov. 24, 2025 to celebrate WFB's centenary! This A-Flat Major Prelude and Fugue by J.S. Bach was recorded on July 14, 2008, several months after WFB passed away. I played the last recital at the Buckleys' East 73rd Street Maisonette before it was sold. Watch out for the complete album on Nov. 24, 2025. It will include Bill's favorite "Diabelli Variations" by Beethoven. I have kept this in my archive since 2008 and am excited to share it. #Bach #piano on.soundcloud.com/EK6XXgfBx5LcNW…

Democrat-aligned power brokers at the Kennedy Center love Gianandrea Noseda for putting the National Symphony Orchestra on the map; their GOP counterparts appreciate his apolitical, nonwoke artistic vision, writes Barton Swaim on.wsj.com/3WyY5oP

I was honored to film this from high atop a church steeple last night in Salzburg. That's a performance of Jedermann, the iconic play, which has served as a centerpiece of the Salzburg Festival since visionary founder Max Reinhardt first produced it at this location in 1920.

An excellent defense of the importance of classical music, TV, Theater and popular music critics and reviews @nytimes after the unceremonious reassignment of four top critics at NYT, including the gifted Zachary Woolfe, classical music critic. I would add to this essay by @tnyfrontrow that criticism itself us an art form worth defending. The chronicling of performances over decades "paper of record," is exactly that, a record of what took place! If there's no longer a record then it is just simply a paper. I'm curious what Broadway producers will do without an NYT blurb. Will it matter?
Richard Brody@tnyfrontrow

The Times's reassignment of four critics is one thing, but its downgrading of the so-called traditional review is altogether another: newyorker.com/culture/the-le…
