Having guardians in schools is one of the most effective ways to ensure highly trained personnel are in place to respond to an active assailant. HB 757 extends the guardian program to postsecondary institutions, ensuring students have access to safe and secure learning environments. Thank you @michellesalzman and Senator Don Gaetz for leading this important effort to strengthen school safety at Florida’s colleges and universities.

Today, @GovRonDeSantis awarded more than $20 million through the LINE program to strengthen nursing education across Florida. This investment supports student scholarships, faculty recruitment and retention incentives and robust hands-on training at our state colleges. The Free State of Florida leads the nation in workforce education and building a strong nursing pipeline is one of the many ways we are achieving this!

Florida continues to lead in Civics and Debate! Because of the success achieved with K-12 students through the Florida Civics and Debate Initiative, we are now giving college students a similar opportunity. The INAUGURAL Sunshine State Debate will unite students from Florida’s Great 28 colleges for a Reagan-style debate inspired by previous presidential debates. I’m looking forward to meeting all participating students and watching them showcase their skills in February.
