@SteveChillGame Genuinely the worst level design i’ve ever seen for something as beloved as halo in both Halo 4 and CEmake. Cemake is even worse because everything besides the level design and some of the writing is pretty fucking good.

I've only just played the bonus missions in Halo: Campaign Evolved and I find it hilarious how as soon as 343i are unshackled to design levels themselves, they quickly turn into 'Press a dozen buttons to continue the mission'. Halo 4 PTSD hitting me real hard.

@iamrobtv Dialogue is genuinely inferior in most cutscenes to the game from 25 years ago. Reused infinite models/animations/sound effects while simultaneously being marketed as a “faithful remake” “Faithful remake” has no MP. “Faithful remake” has retconned the MA5B to be 36 by default

Finished Campaign Evolved. Still have bonus missions to do but like.. I think it’s all around fantastic. The hand holdy-ness is probably my biggest critique and very 343 coded but man.. all around great remake imo Particularly thought the flood and the environmental storytelling with them was really well done and did the original Bungie vision a lot of justice. I also felt like the second half of the game was generally much more enjoyable than the OG. Much less repetition and although I didn’t like EVERY change they made related to level design, most of the changes were very appropriate. The completely re-done cutscenes and the added context with a lot of them, again, did the original Bungie vision favors, it didn’t take anything away or change things that didn’t need to be changed. It took something already great and made it better. Idk. I’ll let it sit longer but my initial thoughts have me confused more than anything because I can’t figure out why many are so upset by this remake outside of the bonus missions.

The new voice actors for Johnson and Keyes did such a great job. I’d love to see more from both of them.

Genuinely do not understand why people are so angry about Halo: Campaign Evolved, the game is beautiful and absolutely captures the essence of the first Halo…how are we not all loving this right now???

Facts. After being in this fan base for 20+ years, I’ve got one takeaway - majority of halo fans are the most whiny mfs ever. You could make the halo game of their dreams and they’ll still hop on twitter to bitch and moan. Feel sorry for every dev that has to work on Halo.

@lastchalice The answer is very simple they don’t want to admit it but it’s because it would make them look bad. They needed to test Halo on UE5 before investing in a proper game with mp,theater and all the good features. They only had enough of a budget for the basic necessities. Lazy slop

I do think it’s interesting they took the time to make a Halo remake and didn’t include: - Any integration of the Arbiter’s presence - Any of the wildlife from early Halo builds - No flamethrower from CE on PC - No specter vehicle from CE - No Engineers There’s even a wildlife enemy type already in Reach and this is using the Reach engine.
