DMK lost today, but that won’t change the fact that Tamil Nadu has progressed well under the leadership of M. K. Stalin 🫡 #electionresult2026

Amit Shah (Dec 2014): 🗣️ “Mamata Didi asked, ‘Who is Amit Shah?’ Didi, I am Amit Shah, BJP’s small KARYAKARTA, and I am here to uproot TMC.” Twelve years later, that prophecy has come full circle💥🇮🇳

After the 2024 elections, many rushed into buying Andhra stocks. Now the trend is to chase Bengal stocks randomly.. Human behavior doesn’t change..

For people outside Tamil Nadu, you don't understand the enormity of what happened in the state today. Nobody, not even MGR, at such a short period has got the kind of mandate which Vijay has got. It is very easy to say Tamil Nadu vote for cinema Hereos. Since independence, only two cinema hereos, MGR and Vijay has got this kind of acceptance among people. Legends like Sivaji Ganesan and many others were not able to convert their popularity into votes. Honestly I don't know why people have given such a huge mandate to Vijay. I never knew he had such a support among people. It is a change which is not catching attention. Only two dravidian parties have been ruling Tamil Nadu for last 6 decades. For the first time, a non dravidian party has come to power. Every Chief Minister so far had their roots in dravidian movement. Vijay comes with no political roots. Unlike his predecessors, he was not MLA, MP, Minister, Mayor or anything. He is directly becoming Chief Minister. I understand West Bengal getting all the attention today. But what has happened in Tamil Nadu is unbelievable. Atleast in West Bengal, people saw it coming. Almost no one saw it coming in Tamil Nadu.

For all the work Amit Shah did including removing Annamalai, BJP has ended up with just one seat in Tamil Nadu.

Many have praised me for getting Bengal right. But they have missed that I missed TN. I completely underestimated TVK and miscalculated how they will impact DMK/ADMK votes. Tremendous performance by them. Kudos to Vijay and how he has fought to get such great results on debut.
Aravind@aravind

@krishiv2023 Both DMK and TMC will go next elections, respectively. BJP will take Bengal. AIADMK TN.

Again people are missing the point in Tamil Nadu… This has nothing got to do with film star power or fan following… It is all to do with TIMING…. Annamalai planted the anti Dravida seed against both the Dravida parties and nurtured the ground but unfortunately forced to withdraw… Vijay entered and harvested the fruits… Annamalai left at the wrong time and Vijay entered at the right time!

The @AITCofficial 's counting agents are being beaten, threatened and harassed by the @BJP4India . In Bhabanipur AC, Smt @MamataOfficial 's counting agent is not being allowed inside. Wins and losses are part of democracy and all parties accept the will of the people but there is NO PLACE for physical violence, threats and intimidation in democracy. @BJP4India again revealing its governance deficit and its politics of violence and intimidation.

Don't know why. Tamil people want their leaders to decide on their own and not look up for permission from Delhi leadership. Kamarajar was very powerful because he was the high command. Nehru and Indira respected and listened to him. Annamalai was becoming a powerful leader. His independent approach was not liked by central BJP. So he was removed. Annamalai was the only leader BJP was able to produce in Tamil Nadu in all these decades. BJP has made themselves a fringe player in Tamil Nadu. Looks like they would remain so. Annamalai wanted a third space other than DMK and ADMK. And that space now belongs to Vijay.

For the last six decades, people of Tamil Nadu always voted only for regional parties belonging to Tamil Nadu. National parties were not given opportunity. With Vijay coming now, DMK and ADMK already being there- I see no space for national parties for a long time to come. Before Annamalai, BJP was zero in Tamil Nadu. He worked very hard and brought BJP vote share to 11%. Prime Minister Modi was disliked a lot in Tamil Nadu and Annamalai single handedly changed that perception. Amit Shah unwisely removed Annamalai and BJP is back to be an insignificant player. The traction built by Annamalai is completely gone. In the changed circumstances, not sure whether BJP would ever gain that traction again. Even if it happens, BJP has minimum two decades of hard work to do to convince Tamil people that the party can be given a chance. A very long shot. Without any national party in the state for last many decades, still the state has done significantly well. Or may be that's why the state has done well. The parties belonging to the state understand Tamil Nadu much better than high commands and all powerful home ministers.
