George H.W. Bush kept his assets in a blind trust, as did Bill Clinton. Neither Obama nor Biden traded stocks or bonds while in office. 3,700 trades is probably more than all the trades of all the presidents until now. And he is trading stocks that are affected by his decisions. A walking conflict of interest, at the least, and perhaps insider trading. Congress wants you to believe that they can’t survive on $83/hr but that you can survive on $7.25/hr. These people have nothing but contempt for you.

The Supreme Court of the United States has now joined the Supreme Court of Virginia in choosing to nullify an election and the votes of more than three million Virginians. These Virginians made their voices heard — casting their ballots in good faith to push back against a President who said he’s “entitled” to more seats in Congress before voters go to the polls. As Governor, I will make sure voters know when and how to cast their votes this year. Because our votes are how we choose the representation we deserve.

Ban stock trading by the President. Ban stock trading by the Vice President. Ban stock trading by members of Congress. End the corruption.

So Mike Johnson and many republicans are against banning Members of Congress from trading stocks because inflation makes their salary less valuable. Here’s an idea: if $174k a year isn’t enough for you, then resign and let someone who is willing to work the job do it. There are plenty of young people who would be willing to give up stock trading for that salary. And they would actually get stuff done. And if $174k isn’t enough for people to take care of their family, then how the hell is minimum wage?

It certainly cannot be called a coincidence that one of the longest massive Russian attacks against Ukraine takes place precisely at the time when the President of the United States arrived for a visit to China – a visit from which much is expected. In this difficult geopolitical moment, Russia is clearly trying to disrupt the overall political atmosphere and draw attention to its evil – seeking to do so at the expense of Ukrainian lives and Ukrainian infrastructure.
