Talking to my mum about the online biblical Greek course I help with and she immediately suggested starting an in person version at our house. Which seems a little optimistic. Our town is largish but demand is probably not present in sufficient number.

The most demanding schedules I've ever come across with reaching a proficiency that's truly admirable. I suggested to one that soon we'd become a reading group and thrilled she seems keen. Overall a wonderful time and I've gained so much from being, in a small way, a teacher.

My copy of Christensen's classic comprehensive study of FD Maurice's theological thought arrived yesterday. Reading the introduction this morning. Interesting reflection on the state of the church when Maurice committed to it... different times, different context...same problems.....? "The ecclesiastical machinery was cumbrous, brimming with abuses, and completely inadequate to cope with the new problems of a rapidly changing society. It was with good reason that the Church of England was regarded as a tottering building, a remnant of the past, doomed to downfall unless it was radically reformed and reshaped for the new pattern of society that was emerging"
