Spotted this ghost sign for M&A Browns, a bakers, cooks, and confectioners located at 380 Great Western Road. According to the West End Address Archive, it dates back to 1898. A glimpse into local history before it was quickly covered over again.

London Rd, 1962 v 2024. It's 1962 and this 'Cunarder' on service no 9 is heading to Dalmuir West. It's passing a neat little brick terrace of shops on London Rd that have since been reduced to a single storey. Glickman's is still at this location today.

I'm appalled that the Planning Committee has agreed to approve the demolition of this historic warehouse on Oswald Street. The last vestige of this street's history at the heart of the Port of Glasgow is now to be wiped out for a speculative hotel development. Shocking decision.

There has been a lot of concern about the proposal to demolish a large part of the A-listed former North British Locomotive Company HQ in Springburn. After discussion with the owner, he has agreed to withdraw the demolition application and to work with me to explore alternatives
