ChatGPT is an amazing tool but it won't kill Google because it can’t stay free forever. Ads wouldn’t work because there’s nothing to click and the average non-tech person wouldn’t pay for it when Google is free.

Hearing from CPO candidates in the market: many Series B/C companies haven’t yet found PMF despite having raised tens of millions of $. The CEO believes the CPO will help them find PMF. Finding PMF for a company is a a cofounder role (with appropriate equity), not a CPO role!

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing, following a brief illness, of Terry, our beautiful friend, brother and one of the most brilliant singers, songwriters and lyricists this country has ever produced. (1/4)

AND people who have seen a lot of startups have a fundamentally different mental model of what operating well looks like. Operating perfectly will look chaotic, whimsical, and like poor decision making at times. Will write up more on that when I have more time.

I get accused of simping for Elon. But I just skew towards acknowledging: 1. We only have a tiny fraction of the information/context 2. What works best often doesn’t look pretty from the outside I analyze, don’t always agree, but am always hesitant to armchair quarterback.

We are witnessing the birth of mass market autonomous electric vehicles, but that plot has been lost in all the Twitter drama. Tesla community, consider trying to ignore more Twitter drama so we can keep the conversation focused on what’s important. 👍

@jimmycthatsme The industry is discovering that algorithms can’t replace artistry. Seems like they learn the same lesson every 20-30 years.

Hollywood is in disarray amid mass firings and fears of the future. The big take-aways in the trades seem to be that people need to be making smaller more thoughtfully crafted movies for audiences. Welcome to the party, pal.

The 20% is aggregate across all my presents. So it might be that my partners buys my favourite tea and it’s worth £20 to me, but somebody else gets me £10 of coffee (which I don’t drink) so it’s worth £0. All these gaps in value to cost add up to 20%.

The “deadweight loss” of Christmas is roughly 20%. As an example If I buy myself some nice tea for £20 it’s worth £20 to me. But If somebody else buys me some OK tea for £20, it might only be worth £16 to me. 20% less.

@ritaparada @TheGrandWorld No first hand experience - but have had the pleasure of watching @heyreiwang and team build a compelling coach-lead cohort-based community around the idea of shared experience and career transition. Really admire their work.

As I've been blessed or cursed with some time on my hand and I've been contemplating my future options and desires, I am thinking about consulting with a career coach for a couple of sessions. Have you worked with anyone in the past? Would you be able to recommend the person?

Dear @elonmusk, now that you've purchased @twitter and are purging the platform of its progressive biases, do you think that you could purchase all universities to help purge them of the idea pathogens that are destroying the West?

@Altimor Not sure ‘greatness’ should be evaluated solely by ‘success in business’ or the privilege to express unpopular opinions. Thinking you’re greater than you actually are while mocking those with deep topical experience kinda makes you a loser.

Easy post tricks to elevate / stylize your genre film: - Punch in on shots (adds tension) - Rotate for dutch tilt (disorienting) - Slow digital zooms (creepiness) - Crank up roomtone (unsettling) What else?
