What movie is 10/10, yet hardly anyone has heard of it?

Today I am introducing a proposal to improve transparency and public awareness regarding ordinances which would impact your pocketbook (via increased property taxes or sales taxes.)   My proposal would require formal notification to local news outlets, clear notice on the County Council’s official webpage, and shared information across County Council’s social media accounts whenever an ordinance that would raise taxes is scheduled for consideration.   “Tax increases directly affect every resident and business in our community,” said Councilmember Nehring. “Our responsibility is not only to deliberate thoughtfully, but also to ensure the public has timely, accessible information about proposals that impact their wallets. This measure is about openness, accountability, and public engagement.”

KIRO's Charlie Harger takes a look at how Washington state spending has more than doubled(!) the last decade and asks: 'Where's the beef?' @JohnDelaney Maybe reading is a challenge for you. You said we must first raise taxes and then cut spending. I said you have that backwards. You need to cut spending first. Congress has been irresponsible when it comes to spending. Your argument demonstrates why Congress has no credibility.

The deficit and debt are simple arithmetic. If spending exceeds tax revenues then you run a deficit. If you care about the deficit you should want MORE revenues and LESS spending. If you cut taxes like the proposed tax bill does you get LESS revenues. Anyone who truly cares about the deficit should push to let the tax cuts expire, which will create MORE revenues. Then they should push for LESS spending. The combination of MORE revenues and LESS spending will reduce the deficit and debt. This is not that hard. Anyone who does not want MORE taxes and LESS spending doesn't give a crap about the deficit - they just run their mouths.
