We need a full review of football policing. No councillors on safety advisory groups and fan groups invited to participate. Banning away fans is never a solution.

@andrewfeinstein Barrister Mark Lewis of Lawyers For Israel based in Tel Aviv with his noxious partner, Mandy Blumenthal (who caused the spat with Hunter in the first place), is a good start. The Bar Council should be looking carefully at this man - he’s not fit to practice.

The names of the CAA’s solicitors & barristers should be made public. The withering dismissal of the case by the judge besmirches them & their reputations as much as it does the disreputable ‘Campaign Against AS’ which does more to fuel AS than to counter it by its vexatious, bullying, weaponising behaviour

The Reginald D Hunter case should be a watershed. No longer should we be subject to intimidation by Israel lobbyists such as @antisemitism. No longer should they be able to operate as a 'charity'. Their bad faith and dishonesty should end any role in UK public life. #ItWasAScam

@ymoshah @ZackPolanski Can you tell us about your genocidal Zionism? Do you celebrate the deaths of children? What Jewish values do you hold?

My comment? I'm proud of Green councillors who are doing everything they can to bring attention to stopping the genocide. thejc.com/news/uk/hackne…

Does anyone else remember when it was perfectly OK to call Jeremy Corbyn a racist in Parliament? And disciplining someone for doing so was considered akin to the Gestapo.

I'm a bit confused. The Nuremberg Tribunals specifically found the use of starvation against Jews & others as a weapon of war was an overt act in furtherance of genocide. But somehow, Israel and the US reject those findings by the ICJ when the Jewish state uses it in Gaza.

Hi @lisanandy "unprecedented" means it's never happened before. So your statement in parliament suggesting MTA supporter ban as "unprecedented" is a lie. A lie that you know you are peddling. Lucky for you that Parliamentary privilege used mendaciously can't be held to account outside of those walls. You talk about "dubious facts being peddled on social media", yet you're active on social media and a cursory glance at Aston Villa's social media or website would show you clearly and unambiguously that not only is there precedent but a recent precedent and a recent precedent at Villa Park. Your mealy mouth play on words and those of politicians on all sides are mostly fact and context free, have little or no understanding of many domestic and European bans for clubs with form( you used "reprehensible" for some MTA fans) and show little or no regard for the people who's safety and security you're mandated to protect. The British public, first and last, regardless of race, colour, creed or religion. Here is the Aston Villa Football Club statement from the Legia Warsaw game. Enjoy your tenure because Labour ( a party I proudly supported since teenage) will not see power again for decades. A party that stands for nothing will be rejected by everybody and so you will be.

There seem to be some on this site who imply that the ban on Maccabi Tel Aviv fans is a result of concerns that the Maccabi fans were going to be violent. Do they really believe that was the reason?

The optics of the #AstonVilla ban are truly appalling. How can it be that there is enough policing every weekend to maintain public safety when tens of thousands of pro-Palestinian supporters gather, but there isn’t when it’s maybe a 1000 Maccabi fans on the one night an Israeli club is playing in Britain?

This is the wrong decision. We will not tolerate antisemitism on our streets. The role of the police is to ensure all football fans can enjoy the game, without fear of violence or intimidation. bbc.co.uk/sport/football…

Horrified by reports that Gaza City’s children’s hospital was struck multiple times last night. Babies in incubators and children on dialysis should not be under bombardment.

Because his silence on the proscription of Palestine Action is deafening. So it seems he doesn’t think THAT puts his officers “between a rock and a hard place”. Ergo, he and his force aren’t impartial. They delight in arresting peacefully protesting pensioners (and others). /2
