I've got a disagreement with my brother and it sucks. He wants my niece (7) and nephew (9) to come spend two weeks at the farm like we used to when we were young and I'm all for it except when I told him they'll need to leave their tablets at home bc we don't do screens in our house and that's unacceptable to him. He said it's fine that we're "weird about screens" when they're visiting bc they leave them in the car but it's cruel to make them live without screens for two whole weeks apparently. Am I way out of line here?

Your take on this off. TikTok’s algorithm gave us all a unique experience. I found myself watching someone’s cancer journey, helping their family just by watching, then ultimately grieving their loss. I grieved with mothers who gave lost children. Sometimes I go just for some comic relief to share with my girlfriends. Oh, and I learned how to make sourdough bread. It is not merely a place to watch stupid dances and it has provided a good income to many Americans. The fact that you recommend instagram is laughable.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but… Not being able to watch stupid mindless dances on a communist app will in fact, not kill you. I realize some businesses use it for marketing, and that’s a shame that they will no longer have that tool BUT let’s be honest, there are many other marketing platforms that are not communist controlled. A miracle has happened. We managed to get to our property and our home, that we were told is gone forever, is still standing. In this hellish landscape “standing” is relative, but smoke and other damage is not like the utter destruction around us. The view from our deck area:
