So stoked to share that I matched @WashU_Uro for residency! Incredibly grateful to all my mentors, family, and friends who supported me and helped me reach my goals. Back to my home turf!! #UroMatch2023 #UroSoMe #auamatch

@sweatystartup Hypothetical(assuming you’re healthy): One of these “cancer markers” comes back +. You get additional diagnostic procedures, imaging etc. You/your family are losing sleep, scared you have cancer. Weeks pass. Workup returns normal. Would you want surgery/chemo? My guess is no.

Honest question: What part of medical school teaches doctors to fight against doing full bloodwork panels? I got a full work up. Hormones, cancer markers, etc. 5+ of my friends went and asked PCPs for it. ALL of them fought back. You don’t need it. Unnecessary stress. Why the hell is this a thing?

Euglycemic DKA is becoming more commonplace in our ICUs. I recall the first time I was called to admit a patient with this. I asked “what is that?!?” This paper addresses the mechanisms, manifestations, diagnosis, and treatment. 🎩 tip to the authors. eddyjoemd.com/foamed/

🧵regarding some of the more novel *non-urologic* uses of Foley catheters. It's been almost 2 years since I originally posted this, so many may not have seen this one (and I'll be doing reruns for a while...I need to spend April getting ready for #ASGBI2024 🧐. (1/ )

@tim_cook I’m not sure ‘wanton destruction of all the good and beautiful things is this world’ was really the vibe you were trying for.

@fgomsan I thought this was just because gram is a mass and cc is a volume? I could be wrong but I think the only substance they would be = for would be water which has a density of 1 g/mL

‘I operated a 250 cc prostate in 30 minutes and the weight of the adenoma was 120 g’… isn’t that a bit silly? The estimation of size by ultrasound and MRI usually is not very accurate… residual volume after HoLEP is probably quite constant at 15-20 g so I would refer to the weight of the adenoma or a more reasonable 120+20 when bragging about my skill online 😝😜
