Huge congrats to @andys_lee, @srinth32, and the @deeptraceai team. We’ve been using them at @Opendoor since the early days, and it has had a big impact on our on-call and triage/diagnosis culture. Moving from firefighting to automated investigation is the only way to scale modern prod environments.
andy lee@andys_lee

Excited to share that @deeptraceai has raised $5M to identify and fix every alert in production. This round is co-led by @felicis and @matrix, with participation from @ycombinator. As AI generates more of the world’s code, the real leverage shifts to systems that help engineers understand and run it in production. Deeptrace is that reliability layer. Today, teams like @opendoor, @mintlify, and @phantom use Deeptrace to automatically investigate every alert in production and proactively catch issues before they turn into incidents. If you’re looking to automate on-call and use agents to monitor prod, please reach out!

@bcherny @luisgonzaleznf Thank you! I’m sure you already know this - my biggest frustration is blocking permission prompts not appearing at all in the CC iOS app. I find myself going back to my tailscale + tmux setup.

@shrisha @nejatian @paras_doshi Thank you for the explanation, I just wanted to be 100% sure that you guys had seen/understood this case. Btw I'm having fun browsing the site, seeking ways to improve it and looking for irregularities. And on my side the navigation seems smoother than before. I like it.

So let’s stop the games. If you want this fight, @RepJamesComer, let’s have it—in public. You love to talk about transparency. There’s nothing more transparent than a public hearing, cameras on. We will be there.

@nejatian +1 hard to entirely blame the guy who just walked into the room for the fire that’s been smoldering for a decade. they traded a world-class engineering & product core for superapp fluff a long time ago. the sheer mountain of technical and acquisition debt...

For years, PayPal prioritized growth of Braintree at the expense of PayPal. They did insane things to make the company *look* good and avoided doing any of things required to make the company actually *be* good. I watched as PayPal destroyed its product and handed roadmap over to its sales team. It is broadly known that the search for PayPal CEO last time around was a very wide one. Most people who had watched the company turned the job down because they knew what would happen the second they tried to fix the company. It is genuinely sad what has happened to one of the greatest companies ever founded.

It’s the intersection of a few things: proving our AI chops by shipping polish work at speed, experimenting with fresh (and fun) low-CAC lead gen, and, honestly, just a bit of Friday magic. Sometimes the best way to test the limits of your tech is to play with it. Huge props to @morganb for the spark and actually getting it out into the wild.

Ever wondered where words come from? 🗺️ built this app on @GoogleAIStudio called 'Wanderword' to map the evolution of language through time and space. It uses Gemini to trace linguistic roots and D3.js to animate the geographic migration of words through history. …derword-141284551734.us-west1.run.app

One of my favorite things about working with our team at @Opendoor is how deep in the craft we are from top down- no task is ‘beneath’ anyone or ‘not their job’. @yang_guo values homes. @morganb is spinning up new campaigns. The engineering leaders do on-call(and still build)etc

iOS in general is degrading release by release. photos is a disaster. liquid glass is meh. apps like podcast that functioned perfectly well are getting bloated and prev. muscle memory taps just don't work anymore. It really makes me wonder if Apple is suffering from teams with scopes defined too narrowly, falling into the trap of Parkinson's Law where they reinvent UI just to fill the time.
Sheel Mohnot@pitdesi

We are a year and a half into iOS18 and I STILL do not have muscle memory to find my albums and starred photos in the photos app. Complete disaster
