Women know that men don’t scheme to “dress like girls” to assault them. They do it every day in broad daylight. And the ones in power protect each other to keep it quiet. Just ask the House Ethics Committee. Or the President-elect of the United States. Leave women alone.

I think @AOC’s argument about transgender bathroom bans is…pretty much perfect

Governor Andy Beshear, in a Trump +30 state, gives advice to Democrats: Do not throw LGBTQ+ people under the bus, it will not work. His advice to dems: Lead on your values. This man ran on a fully inclusive campaign in 2023 and won. He received the same kind of ads Harris did.

Walz: So if you are feeling deflated, discouraged today, I get it. Take some time. Take care of yourselves. And get back in this fight when you are ready. And know that whenever you are ready to get back in that fight, I will be standing right here, ready to fight with you.

If your media consumption is a Fox morning show, Joe Rogan, Lex Fridman, Jordan Peterson, Prager, Ben Shapiro, Steven Crowder, right wing memes on reddit, Twitter, and Instagram, and your nightly consumption is Fox, you will have no way of knowing anything good Dems do.

I keep seeing the argument that Democrats abandoned the white working class, but from a policy perspective most of Biden’s legislative accomplishments benefited the working class. The sad reality for Dems is that “doing things” simply doesn’t translate into electoral benefits

I don't have a great sense of what's already out there: would sharing a spreadsheet tracking uncalled House races be helpful or redundant?

At this point (4:30 EST, 11/06), based just on what I know, my own modeled estimate is that Rosen has 2-in-3 odds of hanging on. For Bob Casey, 1-in-4. Neither race will be called anytime soon. Very fluid. Whether Dems get 48 or 46 Senate seats will change the 2026 picture a lot

I will say this: I'm old enough to have voted in 2004, and I can't describe how hard I would have laughed if you told me that America was four years from electing a Black guy named Hussein in a landslide.

@shua_bragg @alanthefisher Alan Fisher, Regular Car Reviews, Aging Wheels, honestly, just any number of good male role models that aren't weird misogynists and conspiracy theorists. Problem is most don't really want to be political (fair) and we eat our young on the left with ideological purity tests

I really think a lot of this has happened because of all of the right-wing content/creators online that are fully backed by conservative funding. I wish that Democrats/libs would realize this and equally fund the opposite to fight the rhetoric

The 18-34 demographic shift to me is the most startling. At the risk of painting with a far-too broad brush, it's an entire generation that's trending toward post-literacy — that doesn't read full articles, doesn't read books, gets its information from bits and bobs of video while scrolling. This is true not just of young people, of course, but it's reshaping the political landscape.

Losing with some typically means winning with others and vice versa. Losing big with everyone across the board is nearly unprecedented and hard to conceive of as even possible.

It all comes down to the information environment. Inflation is down, growth is up, border interceptions are down, crime is down, vaccines work great--and none of it matters. Trump created a conspiracist permission structure to ignore or deny all the facts and focus on hate.
Michael A. Cohen (NOT TRUMP’S FORMER FIXER)@speechboy71

The flip side is that Trump ran an awful campaign. He gave a terrible RNC speech, his VP was deeply unpopular, he lost the debate, he had no ground game to speak of, he offended key demographic groups ... and none of it mattered.

Nevada’s secretary of state, seeing high number of rejected ballots in Clark and Washoe, says one of the biggest issues is that the signatures of younger voters don’t always match what’s on their driver’s licenses: “It’s mostly the fact that young people don’t have signatures these days. And when they did register to vote through the automatic voter registration process, they signed a digital pad at D.M.V., and that became their license signature.” nytimes.com/live/2024/11/0…
