If you were looking for evidence that isoforms are cool, all-pervasive in the 🧠, and everybody should study them at the single cell level, our work on mouse development and brain-region variability from the @hagentilgner lab is now live @NatureNeuro! 1/ nature.com/articles/s4159…

.@si_hardwick & team present single-nuclei isoform RNA sequencing (SnISOr-Seq). Their method enables investigation of cell-type-specific splicing patterns & improves understanding of isoform combinations in healthy tissue & in disease: bit.ly/3wNrFvi

For the first time in the #covid pandemic, Australia now has more average daily cases than the US. Yet our average daily deaths is only 16, compared to 1,224 for the US 🤔

Amazing work led by postdocs Simon H, Wen H and grad student Anoushka J, with contributions by so many : nature.com/articles/s4158… Get splicing info out of human brain. TSS-exon, exon-polyA and distant exon pairing rules are more cell-type specific. Adjacent exon pairs less so.

Our new preprint is up! We develop and apply a new technique which enables single-nuclei, long-read RNA sequencing in human brain samples (or any frozen, archived, or hard-to-dissociate sample) @hagentilgner biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
