@TimInHonolulu @GOP Telling Trump supporters they've lost my trust is what seems to shake them the most. But trust is a commodity we allow competent adults- by falling for Trump, they've proven they're anything but.

In defense of the boomers. The contempt we aim at the old is practice for the contempt that will one day be aimed at us.

That time a THE PRICE IS RIGHT contestant (Alene Glover) blacked out after winning the Showcase, so the show just ran the credits while they tried to revive her lol (1976)

It has now been 38 days since Scott Jennings declared the Strait of Hormuz open. For someone who claims to hate socialism, he sure loves being publicly owned.

Am genuinely shocked by this anecdote. I cannot recall seeing this ever happen at college in the 1990s.

@simcha1972 @GeauxGabrielle Yep, hubby had it 2 years ago from a kidney infection! He had a 104 fever, chills and by the time we got to ER, he was in cognitive decline! It comes on very fast and it’s not rare!

Kyle Busch dying of septic pneumonia at 41 is terrifying, especially when studies from every major academic or research body in the country have confirmed that COVID-19 is causing a rise in it because even an asymptomatic infection is destroying the immune system enough to cause this.

@lbedell828 @GeauxGabrielle So sorry about your dad.❤️ From what I understand, sepsis can sneak into bodies that are compromised from fighting infection and from there it's a matter of stopping the dominos fall. I've become an evangelist for keeping an eye out for sepsis; it is just that dangerous.

@simcha1972 @GeauxGabrielle During my family’s Covid infections (7 of us at the same time), my dad’s infection went from mild with GI symptoms to sepsis and multi-organ failure in 3 weeks and he was taken off of the ventilator and passed 😓 If people had a mild case, they do not understand how serious it is

@AnyBodies76 @cybelethebest Yeah, you definitely have to be prepared to clean up mess with blw. I prefer doing that as I find spoonfeeding incredibly tedious, but I can see how some would prefer not to have to scour the floor after every meal.

@cybelethebest Um some days you just want to get the feeding done without a mess. Knew a woman who would, when her "toilet trained" peed on the floor would toss a towel over it for the housekeeper to clean the next shift, these women have that energy.

This is like the single lowest-stakes thing about caring for an infant. Have you ever seen a child not understand how to transport food to their face because they didn’t BLW? It doesn’t matter much, spend your time worrying about other things.
The Atlantic@TheAtlantic

A method called “baby-led weaning” has recently caught on among many parents, Olga Khazan wrote in 2025. Its proponents claim that infants don’t need to be spoon-fed baby food—in fact, they don’t need to be spoon-fed anything. theatln.tc/KRS3EiKV But as Khazan spoke with baby-feeding experts—and tried baby-led weaning with her then-six-month-old son—she learned that the method has less evidence behind it than its supporters claim.

@lachancenaomi27 Therapy never worked for me. It felt like paying a lot of money for someone to pretend to care while giving very general advice that I’d already heard from many other places. I know therapy has helped a lot of people, and I’m glad it works for them, but it never worked for me.

I’ve seen this new therapist 4 times and every time we talk about my dog dying. Today I said we were looking for a new dog and she asked if I’ve had a dog before. Should I find a new therapist

@lachancenaomi27 This would not inspire confidence in me. I've seen my share of therapists, and suffice it to say I have not been impressed. I recall one psychiatrist who kept taking calls from her son during our sessions because, at 14, he didn't know how to make himself a sandwich.
