Looking like the Great Plains of Montana, this is in fact the parched hay fields to the north of Lymington-Keyhaven. A former landfill site, these grasslands are an important extension of the Nature Reserve, offering grazing habitat for wintering wildfowl and waders.

@newforestdc we’ve noticed the last few weeks that our black bin bags and recycling bags are being collected in the same truck, all mixed together. Please could you explain how you deal with our recycling? And whether this is an efficient way of doing it?

@simonboswell 1 Bud Moth, 2 agree, 3 looks more like a well-marked abietella to me and 4 Endothenia sp yes but the species can't be separated without dissection

Finding these slightly tricky @MothIDUK I think: 1. Pammene fasciana 2. Ancylis comptana 3.Dioryctria sylvestrella and 4. Endothenia gentianaeana

Took a punt that a murky night would make up for a cold preceding day and ran the trap, but only 6 moths of 5 species (of 4 families).

Any recommendations for a decent #nocmig kit costing ~£300-400? I have a Rode NTG2 attached to a borrowed Tascam R-05 (joined with XLR to 3.5mm mini-jack). However, the Tascam picks up calls better on its own than when the NTG2 is attached. Advice approciated - @simon_gillings

Seen on an interpretation board on the Isle of Wight. Maybe it was intentional as future proofing for global warming? Seems unlikely though.
