@ginnydmm By all means, criticise the DA when they fail. But this is a little desperate. The rivers and dams are so full of flood detritus and sediment following the storm. One cannot sensibly plan for a storm like that. Completely unreasonable. Come on.

City of Cape Town notice to residents This is due to BAD PLANNING, - little to no contingency and having the consumer and rate payer do the heavy lifting once again!!! The excuses are mounting up. They cannot cope - plain and simple. Running a city, a province and a country are vastly difference. Chickens are now home to roost.

Yesterday was an incredibly difficult and emotional day for our Station 42 crew. Our crew responded alongside emergency services to devastating flooding along the Old N1 between Worcester and Rawsonville, where families were left trapped on rooftops as floodwaters rapidly rose around them. Despite dangerous and exhausting conditions, our crew worked tirelessly to help bring more than 20 people to safety — including babies, toddlers, children, elderly residents, a blind man, and a paraplegic woman. Families and their animals were evacuated in relays using rescue craft, ladders, and sheer determination. Our rescuers spent hours wading and swimming through flooded terrain, pushing through strong currents, cold water, exhaustion, and emotionally overwhelming scenes to reach those still waiting for help. Yesterday, however, our hearts were heavy. At least three lives were sadly lost in this tragedy, and while every possible effort was made, not all animals could be reached before conditions became too dangerous. We continue to hold onto hope that many survived as waters begin to subside. To our Station 42 crew — thank you for your courage, compassion, and unwavering commitment to saving lives, no matter the conditions. The emotional toll these operations take is enormous, yet you continue to show up when people need you most. We are deeply proud of every single crew member who stood shoulder to shoulder during this operation. NEW: Motorcycle ends up dangling from a traffic signal pole following a crash in Canada near the Surrey-Delta border. The bike appeared to launch into the air at the light after colliding with the front end of a BMW in an intersection. According to police, the rider suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The BMW driver was not injured. "I was looking down and then I looked up and the [motorcycle] was above. Kind of crazy," said one observer who explained that he saw the damaged BMW but had a hard time figuring out where the other vehicle involved in the crash was. Wild.

To see just how bad the Gauteng Provincial Government's website actually is, I did a bit of looking around. If you go to this link: gauteng.gov.za ...without clicking on ANYTHING on the website, you are presented with a login dialogue box (see below) Looking at the site's back-end info, it's built on ASP 4.0. Now, support for ASP 4.0 was ended in 2016 by Microsoft and considered to be "extremely outdated and obsolete" today. It should have AT LEAST been updated to 4.8.1 AGES ago!! But nope ... It's sitting on 4.0 🤣🤣 Are we surprised it got hacked? Not at all!! 😬😇

This is unhinged. The President of the United States went on a late-night rant, making clear he believes the Supreme Court justices he appointed owe him their loyalty and should always rule in his favor. The President of the United States is openly attacking the independence of the judiciary, the very institution that stands between every American and unchecked executive power. Courts don’t work for the President. They work for the Constitution. And a president attacking the judiciary for doing its job is telling you he believes he is above the law.
