@DPJHodges Dan, he did the exact same thing at Bayern when they went 1-0 at the Bernabeu in 2024. He brings on multiple defenders. They then concede in the 87th and 92nd minute. He hasn’t and won’t learn a thing!

I’m as gutted, and frankly bemused, as everyone else. But the Tuchel criticism is getting out of hand now. You can’t say “we had the World Champions where we wanted them” then claim we had the wrong squad. And it was his tactical changes against Croatia, Mexico, DR Congo and Norway that got us so deep into the tournament. Also, he will learn. The scars of this will go deep. He’s not going to sit back like that again.

Thomas Tuchel retains the full backing of the Football Association and has suggested he intends to remain in charge for the European Championship in two years’ time. 🤔 Do you think this is the right choice? @Matt_Law_DT has more ⤵️ telegraph.co.uk/football/2026/…

@WAFCLouis @rajsinghchohan Would have brought him on the moment we went 2-1 down. Kane, Toney, Burn, Bellingham all in the box and you don’t think he would have found one of them? Get a grip.

I don’t even mind the idea of 5 at the back. What I mind is the fact that even before the equaliser, Argentina were creating chances and England had no out-ball, so there was time to admit you got it wrong, sack it off and bring Saka on for a CB and go back to 4-3-3.

Watch Spain at 1-0 last night. That’s courage. That’s bravery. And then watch England at 1-0. What’s the difference? We are a better team than Argentina, I’ve no doubt in my mind. But we deserved to get beat in the end. In fact, it could have been 4-1. Bringing on 3 defenders at 1-0 up. What message does that send? I wrote it in my Daily Mail column after the Mexico game. Until we understand that courage and bravery is controlling possession under pressure and not booting / heading it up the field 40 yards then this will always be the end result.

@PremLeaguePanel Surely need to look at Stones coming in for Konsa at the back too? Think Konsa is an accident waiting to happen against stronger opposition.

Panama match should be a NOR-Rashford left flank. Saka RW. Madueke, Spence & Gordon are the biggest losers from that match. They did not do enough to help break down Ghana’s deep block.

Quite astonished on the backlash Doku is getting. The birth of your first child is more important than any game of football. Not even a close debate.
Football Tweet ⚽@Footballtweet

🚨👶 Jérémy Doku could temporarily leave Belgium's World Cup camp to be present for the birth of his son, and the debate has exploded across Europe. 🇧🇪 French journalist France Pierron didn't hold back: 🗣️ Pierron: "Are you seriously telling me these players have sacrificed everything to come to the World Cup, and you're leaving just to cut an umbilical cord? 😳 You're lucky enough to play in a World Cup. It's an incredible privilege, and hundreds of footballers would do anything to be in your position. That opportunity might never come around again in your life. And you're going to throw it all away just to attend your child's birth? It's a moment where the father isn't really needed. He has a symbolic role. You hold her hand and take a photo. And then what? You're going to miss 10 hours, experience an emotional high, and be exhausted afterwards. You can't miss a World Cup. Some people may have gone into debt just to get to the World Cup, maybe sacrificed everything to be there, and you're leaving to cut an umbilical cord..." 😳 The reaction has completely split fans. Some believe family comes before everything, while others see the World Cup as an opportunity that may never come around again. 🌍 What would you do: stay with your national team or be there for your son's birth? 🤔

We had no Premier League wins in 2026 (13 games), prior to the arrival of Roberto De Zerbi. Relegation looked increasingly inevitable. Thank you for saving this club from relegation, Roberto, we are eternally indebted to you for that. 🤍🇮🇹
