Pleased to attend the @age_uk reception on Ending Long A&E Waits and Corridor Care. No patient - especially no older person - should be left waiting hours in A&E or treated in a corridor. It was important to hear how our local services are performing and discuss the practical steps we can take to bring waits down and restore dignity to care. I look forward to working with Age UK and colleagues across Parliament to push for a fully funded plan to end Corridor Care for good.

Urgent care services affect how quickly local people can get treatment when they need it most. Changes are being considered across Birmingham & Solihull, which could impact access, travel times and waiting times for residents. Share your views 👇🏿 birminghamsolihull.icb.nhs.uk/get-involved/b…

It's v rare for me to read a genuinely surprising piece of health policy research after 24 years as @HSJEditor - but this latest piece from @FraserBattye on the biggest drivers of healthcare demand (they're not what you expect) is an eye opener hsj.co.uk/technology-and…

Fragility Fracture Network (FFN)
A major UK study has revealed that the financial burden of hip fractures extends beyond hospital walls, with social care costs often matching or exceeding medical treatment.

🚑 We took the Corridor Care crisis to Parliament🚑 Over 90 MPs came to our event to speak to us about fixing long A&E waits. An amazing turnout 🎉 Thanks so much to our campaigners for making it happen ❤️ Together, we'll protect older people from unsafe, undignified care.

❤️‍🩹This is the real-life impact of the A&E crisis. Experiences like Anita's are all too common. So many older people are suffering long waits in undignified, unsafe conditions. We're urging the Government to take action to end Corridor Care.
Good Morning Britain@GMB

The state of Corridor care across England's NHS is laid bare today, as an 89-year-old pensioner has told us how she spent 36 hours being moved around corridors, while suffering from a bleed on the brain. It comes as new analysis by the charity Age UK has found that in the last year, more than 100,000 patients over 65 waited between one and three days for treatment, after being admitted to A+E. @NickDixonITV has the latest.
