There was once a time when the @bcci lawyer's threatened to sue us. We made the mistake of advertising our Icelandic Premier League tournament as the IPL. We decided we could either fight back or give in. We gave in. Íslensk Premier League (ÍPL) it became.

In 'Jerry Springer: The Opera', the Virgin Mary is raped. Deeply, deeply offensive but no one died. Yet a cartoon saw 12 people shot dead in a Paris magazine HQ & a novel led to 1bn Muslims being told to kill Salman Rushdie. But Afzal thinks it's Christians who are too sensitive.

If your Faith feels undermined by chocolate box branding, diverse TV adverts or 8 mins of public prayer at a 2 hour interfaith event, then it isn’t your Faith under attack, it’s your sense of control, your discomfort with difference, and your understanding of what Faith really is

Once, Rachel Reeves dismissed fears that her tax rises would have quite a big impact on jobs. Hope these warnings are taken more seriously in HM Treasury now.

This is abhorrent And what Keir and Co don't understand when they condone this by inaction Is that this is viewed globally And overseas Investors are being put off from Investing in the UK by pandering to violent thugs on a daily basis They will put their cash elsewhere

@slyowusu It’s a charity. It’s for everyone. It is run by trained volunteers. Similar in structure to St John’s Ambulance. It is a free and highly valued service provided by the Jewish community to the whole community. It’s not hard to understand

Quote of The Day: "When moving your business forward, people are the most important part of any expansion. The right, friendly people, grow the business. Those just seeking a job, don’t have the passion required. Recruiting the right people is your key to success." John Casey

Zack - "I am going to spend a lot of my time demonising the Jewish state and fueling antisemitism" You inflammatory words fuelled this.. Members of your party & sitting MPs going door to door on a Jew Hunt.. Take your 1930’s Rhetoric & stick it in the bin.

Horrified by the antisemitic attack in our city. Antisemitism is vile and has no place here. Solidarity with the Jewish community in Golders Green - and with our communities across the country who will be feeling this today.

I am deeply disturbed by the appalling attack on @Hatzola. I have seen for myself their inspiring work - volunteers working alongside the emergency services in providing a vital medical and ambulance response to the whole community. This horrific antisemitic attack is shameful.

🔴 We have waited for this. And now it’s happening: a stark rebuke of the Islamic regime in Iran by one of the Arab world's most senior diplomats. Iran’s ideology claims it defends Islamic causes. But the bare facts are now exposed: for 47 years Iran has used a proxy network funding and promoting Hezbollah, the Houthis, Hamas, and allied militias across Iraq, Syria, & Sudan all in the name of “a resistance movement defending Islam and the Palestinian cause”. It is a sham that many fell for. Arabs countries finally calling bs on Iran is highly significant and the final nail in the coffin of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Watch:

I've said before that ship captains during the age of discovery were some of the most impressive human beings to ever live. We have trouble appreciating just how unimaginably great these men were. They had to play the role of navigator, cartographer, astronomer, logistics manager, military commander, judge, police captain, diplomat, CEO, recruiter, accountant and governor, all at the same time, and all under extreme duress, out in the middle of the ocean, cut off from the rest of the world where the penalty for one wrong decision was the death of everyone on board. These are some of the most brilliant and gifted human beings the world has ever known. Nobody on Earth today can come close to matching them. They had a level of both skill and physical courage that just doesn't exist on the planet today.

A young man with Down syndrome was robbed in broad daylight by a migrant Bystanders stood by and watched because they knew that if a European touched the migrant, besides risking their life, it would lead to legal consequences.

Sad to discover that John Dennett has passed away at the age of 101. John served in the Royal Navy in #WW2, was at Anzio, and later Normandy. He returned to Italy and Anzio with me in 2013, and I was honoured to take his photo there. RIP John.

Ministers have gone back on their promise to allow jury trial rebels to sit on the Bill Committee. In a last-ditch attempt to stave off a major rebellion at the Second Reading of the Courts and Tribunals Bill, David Lammy offered rebels places on the committee tasked with scrutinising jury reforms. Labour MP and former Shadow Attorney General Karl Turner, who is leading the rebellion, put forward two colleagues, Rachael Maskell and Stella Creasy. In a significant breach of trust, Government Chief Whip Jonathan Reynolds has rejected their nominations. The row threatens to further sour relations between the Government and its backbenchers. As many as 80 Labour MPs are believed to be willing to vote against the proposals. @KarlTurnerMP has said it is “clear that the Government is intent on treating the rebellion with utter contempt by ignoring the recommendations that were made.” He added: “We must now hope that the Government proceeds in good faith, but we are sceptical.” Under Lammy’s reforms, defendants facing a maximum sentence of less than three years in prison would no longer have the right to a jury trial. Instead, their cases would be heard in judge-only courts. FSU research shows that those charged with speech-related offences are almost twice as likely to be found not guilty in a Crown Court with a jury than in a magistrates’ court without one. The antisemitic arson attack in Golders Green is horrifying. I’ve been in touch with Jewish community leaders this morning and will continue to do so throughout the day. An attack on our Jewish community is an attack on us all. We will fight the poison that is antisemitism.
