Today is the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. To celebrate the return of light, I've created a small web experience that visualizes daylight hours. Visit thelightof.day.

I cannot overstate how much this little tool has changed my design workflow over the last few weeks 😮 Being able to grab something from prod, paste it into the canvas, and have Claude spin it up 6 different ways is insane I've also started using it to create a pseudo version history of my code explorations too. Before prompting a change I create a quick snapshot and dump it into Paper. Never in a million years did I think my workflow would change so much from 2025 to 2026.

Stay ahead Today we're announcing Paper Snapshot Snapshot your live website and paste it into Paper as editable layers • start from your real site • no more screenshots • uses real html/css What will you make? Link in replies 🎶

@khandrewone you can use both! glass is a separate window for now, you should give it a try. agent first, but you can still edit code manually if you really need it

@simonlind Agree probably UX research as well. What I’m building with @pelindotai definitely speeds up both pm and ux workflows for product discovery.

Meta PMs are now building with AI coding tools. Anthropic's lead engineer says "software engineer" might not exist as a job title by end of 2026. The PM role isn't disappearing. It's becoming the one that decides what the AI builds.

@madsviktor But I think it’s going to be a hard transition for “UX designers” that never concerned themselves with the actual production of software. I think they will need to adapt or otherwise they will become obsolete.

@madsviktor Same really. I think all 3 roles will converge over time. I think product designers are well setup for a future where technical ability is less important.

Out with the old and in with the new…It was time for a little refresh of @shop on the web. Another fun collaboration between @shop design and the Product Design Studio 🤌

I could probably have build this pre AI. But I would have spent an unjustifiable amount of time on it. Now I can build it in less than an hour. Increasing quality and polish is what gets me most excited about AI development.

@mikker True. But it's also a chair you'll sit in for +8 hours a day. You haven't noticed any improvements switching to it? I'm dealing with some neck pain and I was hoping it might help with a better chair.

@simonlind I mean. It's a chair. *How much* difference can you really expect? I like mine, just can't justify it if strictly judging on "comfort"

@mikker Huh, interesting! I see so much praise for it everywhere. I guess I'll stick with my current not-really-fancy-but-just-fine desk chair for now.

@simonlind Not really. It's good but not that much better that it justifies the price difference. See it as splashing on something you use a lot. Like buying an expensive watch. Buy a watch for $1 and it will tell time just fine. Or buy a Patek and it'll also tell the time just fine 🤷‍♂️
