Just as it took 70+ years for Americans to begin to recognize that Russia, not the USA, defeated Nazi Germany in the main, it will take an equivalent amount of time to acknowledge that Iran, more than any other battlefield actor, destroyed ISIS.

Social Security relies on younger workers chipping into the system, but today’s older voters are actively reducing the number of young people who will be available to work by making housing unaffordable, by massively restricting immigration, and generally hoarding wealth.

Just saw The Odyssey. Despite what you may have heard, literally all of the criticisms by conservatives were entirely correct. The movie is just as woke as you fear, if not more so. The DEI casting is atrocious. Completely takes you out of the story right from the beginning. But even worse than that is Nolan’s decision to turn Odysseus into an anachronistic whiney, solemn shell of a man plagued by “trauma” and guilt. It’s impossible to overlook these flaws because the film itself is not terribly entertaining or well constructed. For the most part it is disjointed, dull, self-serious, disenchanted, somehow feeling both verbose and overly rushed at the same time. The dialogue is some of the worst I’ve ever heard in a “critically acclaimed” film. “On the nose” and “clunky” are descriptions that can’t even begin to describe this script. At no point in the story does Nolan ever transport the audience to the ancient world. You never feel like you’re 3,000 years in the past. You feel like you’re watching modern Americans put on a pageant, because you are. Nobody would be calling this thing a masterpiece if it was made by a director not named Christopher Nolan.

CENTCOM scrambled that day to deny the claim that Iran attacked US troops in Syria, well ... they're right, it's 1km into Jordan, but troops definitely died if they were in these accommodations.

Call it what's forming: a de facto air-and-sea denial zone over southern Iran, assembled wave by wave, no declaration required and is extending the fight from the Strait deep into the mainland to sever the regime's supply lines to its coast and islands.
U.S. strikes across the Southern Iran have systematically dismantled coastal air defenses, radar, and missile/drone sites from Bandar Abbas to Greater Tunb, Kish, Qeshm, and Abu Musa, shaping for bigger operations ahead. In the meantime, the Naval blockade is crippling Tehran's economy and the flow of commerce through the southern provinces.
A no fly zone requires basing, overflight, and political cover from regional states already absorbing IRGC retaliation in Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and Qatar. A 24/7 air-denial regime over south Iran is operationally plausible given current suppression of air defenses, but politically it demands a coalition.
This will evolve the current operations into sustained interdiction of inland logistics corridors feeding the coast with military assets.

I think the average American voter is less hawkish on foreign policy than much of the foreign policy community. Wars are sold to voters by deliberately underestimating the risks and costs or exaggerating the risks of inaction, and Americans then get angry once they realize the costs are greater than expected. That then puts a limit on how far an administration can pursue the war.

The USA has the most powerful military on Earth. We've bombed the HELL out of Iran for 4 months. Trump says their Air Force, Navy, and nearly all of their missile capabilities are destroyed.
