Pakistan Does Not Meet the Abraham Accords Standard The Abraham Accords rest on convergence: recognition, reciprocity, alignment, integration and a shared interest in regional stability. They are not a vehicle for repackaging failures in American South Asia policy. Washington’s Pakistan mistake will not become Israel’s policy. For decades, Washington treated Pakistan as an ally while discounting India. It confused access with alignment and utility with trust. That policy weakened clarity, rewarded leverage and distorted the strategic balance of South Asia. It is not Israel’s model. The distinction is clear: the issue is the Pakistani state, not the Pakistani people. Pakistan does not recognize Israel. Its position on Jerusalem remains maximalist. Its military remains the country’s decisive political arbiter. Its strategic doctrine does not meet the threshold that made the Abraham Accords possible. No ceremony can convert such a system into a partner. Kazakhstan is not the precedent. It is the warning. Kazakhstan already had relations with Israel. Its addition to the Abraham Accords created no strategic breakthrough. It produced spectacle, confusion over regional maps, and restraint in Jerusalem. It was theatre without damage. Pakistan is different. Kazakhstan was a mirage. Pakistan would be an injury. The cost would be paid in New Delhi. India is not another bilateral file for Israel. It is one of Israel’s strategic pillars: democratic, technological, military, economic and civilizational. It connects Israeli innovation with Indian scale, Israeli security experience with Indian depth, and the Eastern Mediterranean with the Indo-Pacific. This relationship was built over time, through trust and strategic discipline. It will not be diluted by Washington’s Pakistan habit. Pakistan’s inclusion in the Abraham Accords now would send India a damaging signal. It would legitimize the same architecture through which Washington discounted India and rewarded Pakistan’s leverage. That would not expand peace. It would turn peace into a wedge against the Jerusalem-New Delhi axis. Normalization is not a trophy cabinet. It is not a brand extension. It is not a diplomatic recycling bin for American illusions. It is statecraft. It works only when recognition reflects reality, partnership reflects alignment, and ceremony follows strategy. Israel welcomes peace with every serious state that accepts recognition, reciprocity and clarity. Pakistan has not made that choice. Until it does, its place is not inside the Abraham Accords. Washington may still treat Pakistan as a habit. Jerusalem will not turn that habit into policy. The greatest mistake in American South Asia policy has a name. Israel will not sign it.

ان صاحب نے مجھ سے ایک آدھ سوال کیا۔ میں نے پروفائل چیک کیا تو مجھے لگا کسی اچھے خاندان کا پڑھا لکھا ہینڈسم نوجوان ہے۔ اسے جواب دے کر اہمیت دینی چاہئے کہ یہ سستے قسم کے ٹرول نہیں ہوں گے۔ بہت بڑا سی وی ہے لکھا ہے ان کے پروفائل پر۔ مغربی دنیا کی کسی یونیورسٹی میں پڑھاتے ہیں۔ انہیں میرا جواب پسند نہیں آیا تو گالی دے دی۔ کہنے کو کہہ سکتے تھے انکل آپ کا جواب غلط ہے، انکل آپ غلط کہہ رہے ہیں اور صیح بات میں بتاتا ہوں۔ ہوسکتا ہے گھر میں اپنے سگے انکل کو بھی اس طرح مخاطب کرتے ہوں۔ تحقیق کہتی ہے بچے پہلی گالی اپنے باپ یا بڑے بھائی یا کچھ کیسز میں ماں سے گھر میں سنتے اور کاپی کرتے ہیں، پھر گھر سے باہر محلے میں کوئی شرارت کرتے ہیں تو محلے دار انہیں پہچان کر گالی دیتا ہے، پھر سکول میں استاد انہیں گالیاں دے کر پڑھاتا ہے۔ یوں بڑے ہوتے شاہ نواز جیسے بچے سینکڑوں گالیوں کے نئے لفظ سیکھ چکے ہوتے ہیں۔ میں اگنور بھی کرسکتا تھا۔ لیکن یہ کیس اسٹڈی ہے کہ تعلیم پاکستان کی ہو یا مغربی یونیورسٹی کی لیکن گھر سے باپ یا محلے دار کی گالی یا استاد کی وہ آپ کو کبھی نہیں بھولتی۔ سائنس اور ریسرچ غلط نہیں کہتی۔ یہ ایک بہت ہی پڑھے لکھے نوجوان کا بحث کرنے کا انداز ہے۔ کہتے ہیں نام کا بڑا اثر ہوتا ہے۔ نام ماں یا باپ نے کئی دنوں تک سوچ کر اپنے تئیں بادشاہ والا رکھا۔ دوسروں کو “نوازنے “ والا۔ انہیں کیا علم تھا نام بادشاہوں والا بے شک ہو لیکن وہ بڑا ہو کر سب کو گالیوں سے نوازے گا۔ شاہ نواز کی زبان گندی ہی رہے گی چاہے جرمنی کسی یونیورسٹی ہی کیوں نہ پڑھائے۔ اس یونیورسٹی کو توپوں کی سلامی جس نے ایسا ٹیلنٹ پاکستان سے سکالرشپ پر ڈھونڈ کر اپنی نئی نسل کو پڑھانے کے لیے باقاعدہ اس کی یوروز میں تنخواہ لگا دی۔ مجھے شاہ نواز کے والد کا علم نہیں ورنہ ان کو یہ سکرین شاٹ ضرور بھیجتا کہ بیٹے کو مغربی دنیا بھیج کر وہ ویسے کا ویسے ہی رہا بدزبان اور بدتمیز ۔۔ کیا فائدہ ہوا بادشاہوں والا نام رکھنے کا بیٹا ٹوئٹر پر گالیاں دینے کا بزنس کرتا ہے۔ گڈ لک ہینڈسم بوائے۔ 😎

کبھی پاکستان میں دو بڑے ویلاگرز تھے۔ مبشر لقمان اور رؤف کلاسرا۔ آج کے ویلاگرز تب کہیں نظر نہیں آتے تھے۔ ان دونوں کا طوطی بولتا تھا۔ مبشر لقمان نے حامد میر کی طرح باقاعدہ رجیم چینج آپریشن میں حصہ لیا تھا۔ اکتوبر 2021 میں جب حامد میر نے واشنگٹن پوسٹ میں عمران خان کے خلاف لکھنا شروع کیا تھا تب مبشر لقمان نے اپنے ویلاگز میں عمران خان کی فیملی کے خلاف ہرزہ سرائی شروع کر دی۔ حامد میر اور مبشر لقمان جب دونوں ایک ساتھ شروع ہوگئے تو خاکسار کو اندازہ ہوگیا کہ تھا کہ جنرل باجوہ نے اپنا ڈرٹی ورک شروع کردیا ہے۔ جب جنوری 2022 کو جنرل باجوہ چین کو رجیم چینج کے لئے اعتماد میں لینے گیا تو خاکسار نے لکھا کہ اگر وزیراعظم عمران خان اس آرمی چیف کو فوری طور پر فارغ نہيں کریں گے تو وہ خان صاحب کو فارغ کر دے گا۔ افسوس خان صاحب نے بروقت ایکشن نہ لیا۔ اور باجوہ وار کر گیا۔ خان صاحب اقتدار کے بےرحم اور سفاک کھیل میں بھی خیر سگالی کی پالیسی اپنائے رکھے۔ انکی خوشفہمی یہ تھی کہ خیر سگالی کا جواب خیر سگالی سے دیا جائے گا۔ جبکہ ایسا کبھی بھی نہيں ہوتا۔ خیر سگالی کو کمزوری سمجھا جاتا ہے اور آپ کو رگڑ دیا جاتا ہے۔ خیر مبشر لقمان کی ساری ویورشپ عمران خان کی وجہ سے تھی۔ جیسے ہی اس نے عمران خان کے خلاف محاذ کھولا اس کی صحافت ختم ہوگئی۔ ویورشپ تقریبا زیرو ہوگئی۔ دوسری طرف روف کلاسرا نے کمزوری دکھائی اور عمران خان اور ارشدشریف جیسے بہادروں کو ہی بےوقوف کہنا شروع کر دیا۔ انہيں مفاہمت کے درس دیے۔ نتیجہ انکی بھی ویورشپ ختم ہوگئی۔ اگر رؤف کلاسرا صاحب حق اور سچ کا ساتھ دیتے تو انکی صحافت زندہ رہتی۔ اب انہيں شاید سمجھ نہيں آرہی کہ ہوا کیا ہے۔

روف کلاسرا صاحب نے بات چھیڑی تو سنتے جائیے۔وزارت اطلاعات کے ایک انتہائی سینئیر ترین عہدے دار نے مجھے خود بتایا کہ ان کے دور حکومت میں خان صاحب کے ایک انتہائی قریب ترین عزیز(نام بتانا مناسب نہیں) نے ہم سے ایک لڑکی کو پی ٹی وی میں کسی پوزیشن پر ایڈجسٹ کرنے کی سفارش کی۔ہمیں چوں کہ خان صاحب کی طبیعت کا اندازہ تھا لہذا ہم نے دو چار دن اسے ٹالا۔جب اس کا اصرار بڑھنے لگا تو انہوں نے ایک شام تنہائی میں خان صاحب سے اس بات کا ذکر کیا کہ آپ کا فلاں عزیز ایک پوسٹ کے لیے ایک لڑکی کی ایڈجسٹمنٹ چاہتا ہے اور پوسٹ بھی عام سی ہے۔ خان صاحب یہ سن کر شدید ناراض ہوئے کہ اس کا پی ٹی وی میں آنا جانا کیوں ہے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ سر اس نے فون پر ریکوسٹ کی ہے اور سی وی بھیجا ہے۔اس پر خان صاحب نے کہا کہ وہ مجھے کبھی پی ٹی وی کے نزدیک بھی نظر نہ آئے اور موضوع بدل لیا۔
