@geordinhl@BafanaBafana@CityofCT@lovecapetown We have Cape Town with the biggest tourism market now in South Africa, the rest of the Cities are being destroyed. They aren’t tourists friendly anymore, Cape Town is now the only City we can always use for big games.
@FrenchEmbassyZA@david_martinon WHAT THE FU K ARE THE FRENCH SMOKING THESE DAYS!!!
Good infrastructure?
Our roads are riddled with potholes, you can name ever street Dodge Road.
Trains run out of tracks because the black scum stole the tracks.
Ports are a fucking mess, lowest rating in Africa.
Infrastructure?
South Africa offers many advantages for foreign investments: good infrastructure, a robust banking sector, world-class universities and first and foremost, a functioning justice system relying on well entrenched democratic values.

@NtsakisiBG@FrenchEmbassyZA@david_martinon No. You can leave if you want to. I would prefer that government actually put criminals behind bars. Sorry that you don't have that hope for SA.
One weekend, two top-tier world sports events.
That was South Africa this weekend, with the first LIV Golf tournament on African soil at Steyn City, and the Cape Epic, the world’s top mountain biking stage race, thrilling sports fans around the globe.
Well done to Bryson DeChambeau on winning his playoff against John Rahm. You guys laid on a great showdown.
Well done also to our South African Southern Guards GC on coming in one shot behind the US Crushers GC.
Making Cape Epic history, Matthew Beers and Tristan Nortje made us proud as they became the first all-South African team to ride to victory in this gruelling showcase of mountain biking in some of the most beautiful places in the world.
We’re equally proud that the elite women’s crown went to our own Candide Lill and Swiss teammate Alessandra Keller.
On a different continent, our Springbok Women's Sevens qualified for the HSBC SVNS World Championship by finishing in second place at the HSBC SVNS 2 in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Let’s hope the women’s team emulates our Blitzboks who beat Fiji in New York to clinch the overall HSBC SVNS Series title.
We’re a nation of champion event organisers and champion athletes.
What a combination!
Many congratulations to Bryson DeChambeau on a magnificent and thrilling victory here in South Africa! What a spectacle for the game of golf. To watch two of the world’s finest competitors going head-to-head in a playoff is exactly the kind of drama that lifts our sport and captivates fans at the course and around the globe. But I must say, it fills my heart with tremendous pride to see South Africa hosting such a world-class event. This is a nation with a deep love for the game, a country that has produced champions, and a place where the spirit of golf runs strong. To showcase our beautiful land, our passionate supporters, and our rich golfing heritage on the world stage is something truly special. I was also delighted to see the Southern Guards perform so admirably, coming so close to securing the team title. They represented themselves, and South Africa, with great distinction. Just as the Nedbank Golf Challenge does, I have no doubt this event will also help inspire the next generation of young South Africans to pick up a club and dream big. GP
There is no way that @TheRealClementM 's "Face the Nation" was axed for financial reasons. He is a tough interviewer to all. And one of the few who does in-depth research. This reeks of political interference in the public broadcaster. And that is a danger to our democracy
I love you South Africa! 🇿🇦❤️
What an honor it was to win in front of the most incredible fans. You guys made my first experience in South Africa unforgettable!
The game is trending and I’m excited for the next couple of weeks! #backtoback
Much love
@africanscribe@mteton Point here is about management of the transition and treatment of coal as an enemy not that transition mustn't happen. Educste me how can renewables supply baseload?
When advocating for a status quo dependence on coal, one should be forced to camp out under one of Mpumalanga’s old six packs and breathe the air or drive children to school daily in Richards Bay, where dozens of coal- laden trucks clog the roads because the corrupt supply chain has dismantled our railways. The myth that renewables cannot supply base load power has been perpetuated by dirty fossil fuel cheerleaders for years but the reality is that you do not need to grow base load capacity to increase your installed capacity, you only need to use energy more efficiently. Demand side management and switching some heavy energy users to low demand times like evenings is the best way to delay capex on new power stations, especially while the economy idles at 0.8% growth.
The two things that nearly destroyed Eskom were corruption and a flawed energy transition. That transition dismissed the importance of reliable baseload power, and treated coal as the enemy rather than focusing on managing emissions - the real challenge of energy production.
