Today was my last day at @xAI. My mission here was to introduce Grok to the world by helping create an inspiring brand, build beautiful products, launch the best voice mode, and most importantly grow the incredible team that made it all happen. These past two years have been exhilarating, gratifying, and unforgettable – we achieved the impossible again and again, with the most talented and dedicated people I’ve ever worked with. To @elonmusk, thank you for the opportunity, the mentorship, and the adventure of a lifetime – it’s been an honor. To the team, I’ll be rooting for you and can’t wait to see what you accomplish next. As xAI begins its next chapter, I’m ready for a new one as well. I’m excited to spend some time seeking new inspirations, reflecting on what I’ve learned, and exploring what comes next.

Grok 4.20 Heavy (Beta 2) is extremely fast for deep analysis. Beta 3 will have many fixes and functionality gains.
Artificial Analysis@ArtificialAnlys

The Grok 4.20 Beta shows three major improvements over Grok 4: ➤ Our lowest ever hallucination rate on the AA-Omniscience evaluation. When Grok did not know the answer, it hallucinated an incorrect answer 22% of the time - this is the lowest hallucination rate of any model we have tested, topping Claude Haiku 4.5 (25%) ➤ Top scores for instruction following and prompt adherence. On IFBench, Grok 4.20 takes the #1 spot with 82.9% - a +29.2 point increase on Grok 4 ➤ Leading speed for its intelligence. At 265 tokens per second output speed on xAI’s API, Grok 4.20 is significantly faster than its peer and over 2x the output speed seen from Grok 4.1 Fast Congratulations to @xai and @elonmusk on the 4.20 Beta 0309 launch!

Today was my last day at @xAI. This was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made and i could not be more thankful to @Guodzh and @archanfel_anoth for bringing me in during the chaos of grok 3.5 sprint and the kickoff for v7. There are far too many people to mention but to all the collaborators, friends, and people I now call family I met along the way, I am grateful our paths have crossed and am excited to see the things you all accomplish. I look forward to a brief hiatus before beginning the next journey, ad astra!!

Tennesseans without power need immediate help. I’m deeply grateful to @elonmusk & @xAI for going above & beyond to support Tennesseans by donating hundreds of generators to fill the gap, & I value their continued partnership to solve problems & support communities across our state.

Recently, I left my role @xAI. I joined last year as the first hire for the new video generation team. It's been a crazy journey to get where we are today with @Grok Imagine. When I first joined, our goal was to create a SOTA video generation model within ~3 months from scratch. To build the best video generation model possible with a small team and short timeline at xAI required extreme first-principles thinking and ludicrous execution speed. In typical xAI fashion, we started a war room for this effort. After a couple months of burning the 3am oil 🪔, we trained xAI's first video model: Grok Imagine v0.9. With the latest release of @Grok Imagine 1.0, our model is now the most used video model in the world, generating millions of videos per day. It's quickly become one of the largest features both on @X and the Grok app. I'm super excited about the future Grok Imagine models, and I'm sure the team will continue to create delightful experiences for all of our users. I’m very grateful to have found amazing friends and collaborators at xAI. I'd like thank @ibab for bringing me into xAI and giving me the opportunity of a lifetime to build an amazing product. To @Sergey_xai @johnmullan for their support and giving me a warm welcome to the company. To @ZhibeiM @zeliu_ for being great mentors and close collaborators. To @chaoqi_w for pairing with me during the early war room days and the fun research discussions. To @EthanHe_42 @jathushan for being amazing friends and supportive late-night collaborators. To @endernewton for all the great research insights and advice. To @chaitu for showing me what makes a great product. To @kwotsin @sishaar for all the great chats about research and life. To @hexianghu for all the helpful advice and fun conversations. To @r_ahulravi @araavp @SahilJain314 @evanzwangg @aheze0 @LiTianleli @JackCaiXun for the late night ping pong games and memorable discussions. And to everyone else I didn’t mention by name but who were amazing friends and colleagues ❤️. Finally, a huge thank you to @elonmusk for his time and guidance. It's been a long journey from the early days when we had 3am review meetings with Elon till now and his support has been vital to our success. I had an amazing time learning directly from Elon to improve my engineering mindset and intuition. Super proud of what we shipped as a team. As for me, I have embarked on a new adventure, one that feels familiar yet very different. I hope to share more soon. ————————— (pic taken after 3am review)

Our city is moving in the right direction, and our economy is recovering, but all of that progress will disappear if we lose our public transit system. The Muni team is ensuring they use tax dollars responsibly, finding hundreds of millions of dollars in savings and making the system run more efficiently. In addition, we have put together a plan to fund Muni that protects small businesses and families—and allows us to improve and expand service so San Franciscans can get around the city and accelerate our comeback.

U.S. President Donald J. Trump and Finnish President Alexander Stubb signed a memorandum of understanding at the White House on Thursday, regarding an agreement for the acquisition of eleven new icebreaking vessels for the U.S. Coast Guard. Under the agreement, Finnish companies will build four of the “Arctic Security Cutters” at shipyards in Finland, while the U.S. would then leverage Finnish expertise to construct up to seven new icebreakers at Davie Shipyards in Galveston, Texas, and Bollinger Shipyards in Houma, Louisiana, in a deal worth an estimated $6.1 Billion. The ships will be part of an effort by the United States and NATO to bolster regional security in the Arctic, as Russia and China continue to advance efforts to exploit the area for shipping and military means, with the first icebreaker under the deal expected to enter service in 2028.
