@ggottawa @twitandrewking In Quebec the processors and farmers agree to keep the price of milk the same where you live or what store (grocery vs corner store) The ontario prices fluctuate depending on demand and "cross border" needs. I wish they stabilized food $ like they do liquor in the north 🤔

Why is milk different prices for different %? Is this new? Also, it used to be $3.79 wasn’t it? 10c more for skim and 2% ?

@MikaylaMorden Fresh cows and close up dry cows are the hardest to groups to give enough feed bunk space. 2 - 3' per cow is tough especially in a 6 row barn

This is how I see overcrowded feed bunks. Don't turn your cows into hungry hungry hippos.

Price fixing is institutionalized in Canada. Dairy, poultry, eggs. Should we be surprised to hear about bread, salmon, beef and other products?

@sjudd2 @Kjelliwithaj @FoodProfessor You say "all butter is the same in Canada" as if that is a good thing. Perhaps more discriminating processors could produce better butter if they were allowed to?

@Kjelliwithaj @aleksic @FoodProfessor Butter is Butter in Canada. No matter the label. Always choose the best price. Sorry if you are seeing any "quality " issues we are always striving to do better with Canadian milk products.

"Its been a hard year raising cattle". I see that kind of tweet a lot. The thing is... yes things like drought really hit hard. Things like drought are not new here. What makes it hard is the returns from cow calf are not nearly enough to offer any resiliency in a crisis.

Dreaming of an app or program that would pull in all grain prices from the group of grain buyers we sell to and put them all in one spot so we can view live. And include freight differentials so can easily compare FOB farm pricing. Is this a unicorn? Or something available?

What does every 15 year old Farm Girl want for their birthday ? Snowmobile Studs of course ! After blowing a few corners last winter, she has been on me ever since to get her some traction.

Getting comments 🤔🤔 from growers mentioning corn is moving slower than normal. Why is that? 🌞🌞Solar radiation has been a roller coaster so far this month. May 10-14 planted plots still need a good 7-10 days to reach Black Layer in our area.
