Something I know (but still underestimate): Your environment shapes your entire reality. The people you surround yourself with determine your outcomes. Surround yourself with people who are constantly talking about the past, you'll be stuck in it. Surround yourself with people thinking big about the future, you'll build a bright one. Spend time with people who encourage you to think bigger. Who believe you’re capable of more. A person is either holding you back or pushing you forward. There is no in between.

This house is less than ₹5cr (£0.5M). Less than 30min commute to anywhere in central London. Indian property markets makes no sense to me after seeing the market here 🥲 (+ has huge backyard, kids can play football in)

@vikxlp Interestingly, when you name something (silicon sampling, analogue paneer), it inadvertently becomes a way to normalise or legitimise its usage.

@heybilaaal You also have the "walk in and sit down" b-roll, when it's a slightly more creative brand.

@NCResq Super! Seems like it's a pretty high-trust team if you, as a designer, have access to the codebase. That does remove the bottleneck for most designer<>dev issues.

Instead of waiting for a dev to look into it, I just... did the audit myself. Used Claude Code to read the source files, list every prop, trace all usage across 15+ features, pull the new comp from GitHub, and take a final call on whether to keep it or not (turns out its better)

Our team was debating whether to extend an existing design system component or keep a new one a dev built. Classic "do we really need two components?" question.. this is generally almost impossible to solve by yourself in a small startup without a design systems team..

@hvost Very Insightful data. It would be even more impactful if adjusted for purchasing power parity.

Which countries pay UX designers the most? Here is an analysis of 24k+ designers' salaries (data from HR systems). Normalized by job level (seniors are compared to seniors, dir to dir, etc.) The numbers are in relation to the # 1 (USA):

@thatguybg You can use a segmented control/button component for this. It is essentially the same pattern but doesn't break the established mental model of a toggle switch.

Building a unified, design system that looks and feels consistent across platforms is challenging. While building for @sliceit_ in 2022, we had to make critical decisions to ensure max parity. This article captures those relatable multi-platform design system challenges.
