This whole "You just don't care about anti-Blackness" is remarkably disingenuous framing. The entire point is the anti-Blackness of what happened. Even I- who was personally harmed by this, have kept the anti-Blackness of what is being done centered since they started this. There are attempts to characterize this as a sort of “disabled advocacy versus anti-Blackness” BAFTA situation- this is not the case. It was fully intersectional; both groups, and people who are in both groups at once, are hurt by the lie. This is a “clout-seeking social media narcissists- some of whom are Black, caused a demonstrably anti-Black outcome that primarily hurts disabled Black people” situation. This is not a principled stand against anti-Blackness- it is an exercise in anti-Blackness. Nukit’s detractors here are slacktivists ragebaiting for clout and followers- there’s no interest in any meaningful anti-racist efforts or improving equitable outcomes. This self-aggrandizing behavior is just packaged as fighting “anti-Blackness” because it sounds better than “Look at me, I’m the Main Character, and I’m very offended by something I can’t point to. Like, Follow and Venmo me to show you're not like the Other Ones". It’s easy to prove because they give zero fucks about real anti-Blackness that frequently occurs in these spaces.

The people who pushed the narrative that led to the protection being withdrawn continue to do so and are still supported by this community. That harm is on all of you. This will result in a higher rate of infections among vulnerable people in that community seeking better-fitting masks. This has affected sales. In addition, over the past few years, this messaging has formed a pattern of specifically discouraging Black Americans from using these tools, which are in widespread use by others. This campaign has not died out or diminished despite its complete lack of evidence, but is periodically signal boosted and long disproven accusations repeated- usually coincidentally when USians are given access to better tools- like it did most recently with the Mask App. This may be, in part, simply normal, organic, USian sociopathic bigotry and xenophobia with which the world is well acquainted at this point. That is your choice, and many have made the choice to support this conduct with a follow and engagement- adding their name to a list of followers that boosts the reach and credibility of these accounts, staying silent in the face of clearly harmful misinformation. I choose not to support those people or risk any traffic I send them ending up where it will do harm. Any that support those accounts with a follow will be blocked- because that is the path that will reduce ongoing harm. If you choose to follow them and be silent in the face of the ongoing harm being done, I sincerely hope they have more to offer you than my company, and I do. A permanent block for all who are actively contributing to the harm being done with a follow, is extremely reasonable.

The spread of "We have to prevent panic at all costs" as a memetic contagion is remarkable. We're at the point where we routinely have worse outcomes- including mass deaths, due to a nebulous fear of panic, which is just accepted as the worst possible outcome.
