One of my GCs I partner w is a Trump guy. We won a new job that will start next year. I just told him I won’t honor today’s materials’ pricing past January. He asked why. I said tariffs could cause 100% increase in COGS or more. That I would send new pricing in the spring. He said but I have to sign the fixed price contract w them tomorrow! And there you have it! One lesson learned two days too late! Too bad. So sad.

@LeachKathleen This is specifically about HRT for trans patients.

@sknitting26 Pt had side effects from a med. Made recommendation to family MD because specialist had died suddenly. It's not a complicated issue. Change to different drug, same class, lower side effects. NOPE. Re-refer. Patient will wait 6 months for a resolution. SMH.

@curgoth (Most of those same doctors *will* prescribe the literal exact same HRT meds for cis people, so are clearly capable of the extremely straightforward monitoring that is required. And presumably able to access at least one of the several publicly-available professional guidelines)

@curgoth Ah, so prescribing HRT is entirely within the scope and ability of Ontario's family doctors, but *many* of them still say they don't have the knowledge/expertise to (or just don't want to) prescribe and instead refer people to endos or gender clinics that typically have ++ waits

@olga100104 @The_Acumen Boomers are born from 1946-1964 (59-77 years old this year), and millennials are 1981-1996 (27-42 years old this year). The oldest boomers and youngest millenials are only 50 years apart, a ton of millenials have boomer parents,

@The_Acumen I'm trying to figure out why millenials have boomer parents. Unless... Gen X and boomers have now merged and I didn't get the memo? It's cold and windy out here.

White millennials are gonna get conservative as fuck when they inherit their boomer parents houses, wealth, and connections. Believe me now, quote me later.

@SoftyGMB @GreenView22 @The_Acumen Millennials are people born between 1981-1996, they're ~27-42. Boomers are born between 1946-1964, they're ~59-77. Most of them are still alive, and working. The oldest boomers are 50 years older than the youngest millennials, they def aren't their great-grandparents.

@roam_town_girl @lingerie_addict @hyggepunk This entire thread is literally about how people not line-drying things is fine. If you can't line-dry things, then don't - it doesn't mean that there's something inherently wrong with line-drying, just that it isn't the best choice for everyone.

One of the more annoying things about laundry and dryer discourse is how many Europeans pop up to tell Americans they’ve NEVER owned dryers and it’s SO EASY to line dry everything and why can’t you just stop using a dryer IMMEDIATELY,

How do you tell a medical doctor? Real doctors: *reluctant to state they are doctors in public/social forums* Non-MD/DOs: *take every opportunity to say they are a doctor…* (chiropractors, naturopaths, pharmacists, apothecaries, charlatans…)
Jimmy Turner, MD@TPP_MD

Doctors in public: Stranger: “What do you do for a living?” Me: I work down town. “Where?” At the hospital. “What do you do there?” I work in the operating room. “Doing what?” I take care of people. “Are you a doctor or a nurse?” Fine. Yes. I’m a doctor. #MedTwitter

@amyfaithho The only time I've worn a white coat as a pharm was when it was required by my employer. It was free, and not a $200+ custom-embroidered jacket. The name tag I also had to wear only had "FirstName, Pharmacist," on it.

Same for white coats…chances are, if someone is wearing a white coat, they are a chaplain/pharmacist/therapist/food services/etc… If they are wearing a fleece or soft shell, probably a doctor, and probably have their name and credentials embroidered on said clothing 🤣 #medtwitter

@amyfaithho @RyanMarino When you're in a hole, stop digging. The tweet & the take were bad. A better tweet (but still a Bad Take) could have been dentists, optometrists, vets, pharmacists, PhD's, etc. But also the ppl I see publicly asserting that they are doctors most often are MDs, by far.

No, charlatan included in jest and hyperbole. I don’t think “medical doctoring” is exclusively science, either. I would actually NOT ever qualify myself as a “scientist”. Medicine is an “art not science”, but I wouldn’t call myself an artist either. My opinion—I’m not offended if we politely differ.

@its_just_a_nick @RyanMarino @amyfaithho (And yeah, the only time I reference my doctorate/call myself "doctor" is when I'm joking around with my sister, who is an MD. Or if a form requires a prefix and has no other gender neutral option.)

@its_just_a_nick @RyanMarino @amyfaithho Same here! She just *kept digging* for ways to explain how having listed pharmacy along with a bunch of pseudoscience wasn't insulting, and how actually, you've just got such a narrow view of science and also isn't medicine itself not even really science?

So if they decrease your credit card limit 3 days after your most recent statement date, hopefully you happen to check your online banking or something before making a big purchase or before a bill is automatically paid, because @scotiabank won't let you know for another 3+ weeks

Apparently they notify people via a letter sent out 4 days before the date of your first credit card statement that shows the new credit limit. But they can decrease your limit any time, not just on your statement date (and also mail can be delayed or lost)

It's truly excellent (aka entirely bullshit) that @scotiabank's policy on notifying people that their credit limit has been decreased means that you may not find out about the decrease until you get a letter 26 days after it takes effect (or longer).
