@Hilbe It's so funny looking back at this stuff. Kids today will think we were crazy. We literally removed parts of our radio, put it in a case, and took it with us. We also had a box in the trunk that let us hold a whopping 100 songs.

**R2 Max Pack Speculation** RJ has said that the 2026 R2 ships with the largest battery option. I do think Rivian will do like they did on R1 - launch with the Large battery pack and later introduce a Max battery pack option. The Max is a different energy density pack with the same number of cells as the Large on R1 Gen 1. R2 could have a different cell chemistry and go from 87 kWh to something over 100 kWh usable. The BMW iX3 with 4695 cells like R2 has ~112 kWh usable. This change would enable a 400+ miles of range R2 with the same efficiency. Now let us fast forward to 2027. What happens in 2027? Rivian starts using cells made at LG ES in Queen Creek, AZ. I've previously said I think there are 2 major changes coming for R2 in the next 2 years: domestic cells in 2027 and Georgia plant coming online in 2028. Either of these would be opportunities to unveil a Max pack option for R2. Personally, I intentionally signed a 3 year lease on my R1T in 2025 to put me into 2028 for decisions on my next vehicle - an R2/R3X made in Georgia. Thoughts?

@KarenWhitworth @DomDoesMedia AS does much better on the road, and I've yet to see an off road situation where AT will make it somewhere an AS won't...so the AT tradeoff isn't worth it unless you prefer the look. Both suck & get caked up in the mud. More serious off road needs a much more aggressive tread.

@skyler_w @DomDoesMedia "all terrain tires don't help much off road." 👀 Thats quite the take. I'm assuming theres some context you can expound with. Eager to see the sources. Asking cuz on several outings we've had, the people on all season tires would often struggle more. It was not isolated.

I may catch flak for this, but I don't believe the R2 will have the same off-road prowess as the R1. I know the specs are completely different, but I would almost equate this to a Subaru off-road vs. a 4Runner off-road. That means, instead of full all-terrains, the Falken Wildpeak A/T Trails may be best.

@KarenWhitworth @DomDoesMedia Yes, many experiences across different vehicles, terrain, & drivers. All else being equal (especially driving skill), ATs make little to no difference in the vast majority of off road terrain.
