Prior to Oct. 7, Gaza was an open air prison. No one said Gazans weren't resilient enough to make that prison as beautiful and livable as they could. But a prison it was. A prison where, for example, Israel didn't allow the import of clothes or shoes for 3 straight years. That's in fact worse than a prison, where your mom can bring you socks.

There's a video on the timeline today of a Palestinian man weeping over the body of his dead 6-year-old daughter. She was killed in an Israeli attack on a tent. There is no ceasefire. There was never a ceasefire. And they have never stopped slaughtering the children of Gaza.

Spoke with Canadian FM @AnitaAnandMP. I described the sole aim of the extremist, anti-Israel flotilla activists: provocation at the service of Hamas. Just look at the what they did afterwards in Spain, Greece and Austria. Israel will continue to act in full accordance with international law and will not permit any breach of the lawful naval blockade on Gaza. I also highlighted the horrific antisemitic wave in Canada - an average of 19 incidents a day. The Canadian government must take steps against antisemitic incitement and attacks.

The amazing thing about Israel trying to derail the deal by insisting on the right to bomb Lebanon: Trump announced on April 18 that as part of a deal, he ordered Israel to stop bombing Lebanon, claiming it's "PROHIBITED." Israel laughed in his face and bombed the next day.

🗞️ Israeli PM Netanyahu said he spoke with President Trump, and Trump “reaffirmed Israel’s right to defend itself against threats on every front, including Lebanon.” The remarks come as Al Jazeera’s Ali Hashem says the memorandum of understanding currently being negotiated includes a ceasefire in Lebanon, but Israel is pushing Washington to include language allowing continued military operations in Lebanon under the justification of responding to “any threat.” According to Hashem, Iran has rejected that formulation and is insisting on a sustainable, lasting ceasefire.

A joint statement, which was issued on the Jewish holiday of Shavuot, that condemns Israel while ignoring the Palestinian Authority’s responsibility reflects a troubling double standard that does not advance the conditions for peace or security. The Palestinian Authority continues to financially reward terrorism through its “pay-for-slay” program, incentivizing violence against Israelis and Jews, while failing to implement meaningful democratic reforms. Israel has turned its prisons into a network of torture camps for Palestinians. Prisoners are subjected to severe violence, deliberate humiliation, starvation, sleep deprivation, denial of medical care and abuse in everyfacility they are held in. Some have also been severely sexually assaulted. Since October 2023, at least 84 Palestinians have died in these torture camps. The policymakers, and primarily Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, brag in TV puff pieces and on social media about what is happening in these torture camps. Today, we published “Living Hell”, a report on the situation of Palestinians in Israeli custody. It is based on the testimonies of Palestinians released in recent months, along with research, reports, news updates and Israel Prison Service figures, and continues our previous report on the issue, “Welcome to Hell”, from August 2024. Systematic, deliberate abuse continues to define Israel’s policy toward Palestinian prisoners in its custody, and is another feature of the Israeli regime’s coordinated onslaught on the Palestinian people.
