@OG_Wick0 That’s because gas was already $4.00 a gallon. He didn’t have to let it rise.

@0Beanie05923291 Here's an idea: an NFL style draft for teachers. They're each given a test (like the combine) where they're graded by experts, and schools have to draft them based on whatever they need or want.

@0Beanie05923291 I got the extra degrees without the pay raise and without the district paying for it. I wish I had the money back now.

@FixingEducation They are often far leftist, jave zero issue with indoctrination, side with big government, think they should have equal power to parents, are part of unions that are the number one reason education is terrible. This is why the profession is in the toilet.

@ButtercupPB @sage_stage Because they might have to supervise that detention
English

@sage_stage I don’t get it. Why is the administration opposed to giving them detention, especially when the parent supports it?

@WhiteHouse @DeptofWar If we are going to fight, we SHOULD fight to win. We haven’t done that in a long time.

@ChrisSe74701328 @0Beanie05923291 $20k per student. Where is that?
English

@0Beanie05923291 Defund public schools! The results are in, and they're bad. $20k per student, bad results, dangerous environments, students dodging bullets, pedo teachers and getting trans'd.

As an education reform advocate, I don’t believe the solution is a mass exodus from the public school system. Nor do I think it’s reasonable to expect every parent to homeschool their children. I do however wish to see parents asking themselves who, not what, do they want their children to be when they grow up.
After wrestling with this question a bit, I every parent should then have the ability to choose the best learning environment for their children to help direct their path towards that goal.
Too many parents simply go through the motions of enrolling their children in school without giving it much thought. The result is many schools simply going through the motions of moving them through without much thought.
True education reform will only happen when parents are thoughtful and vigilant about their children’s education and formation, and schools are forced to respond.

@0Beanie05923291 If you look at the Covid fiasco you will glean that most parents are not homeschool parents…

“You either need to transition your child or you don’t get to keep your child.”
Attorney Erin Friday says California Child Protective Services can threaten parents who refuse to use their child’s preferred pronouns.
She told me she feared calling the police when her 13 year old daughter ran away because she worried CPS would take her child.
“My daughter, who was 13 years old, just starting high school, was secretly socially transitioned at school.”
“The school started to call my daughter by a male name, use male pronouns.”
“When I called the school and told them to stop, that next week Child Protective Services was at my door.”
“The next day, the police.”
“That was an immediate alert to me that the school wants to parent my child.”
“If I didn’t follow and call my daughter a boy, Child Protective Services may come and take my child away.”
“Parents in Southern California had lost custody of their children because they wouldn’t transition their daughter.”
“I already had a black mark, and a few months later my daughter ran away.”
“The normal thing for a parent to do is to ask law enforcement to help find your child… but I couldn’t make that phone call.”
“Because Child Protective Services can swoop in anytime and take my child.”
“It’s coercion at its highest level.”
“You don’t get to parent your child.”
“This is America. This is insane.”

@0Beanie05923291 It’s teachers being bullied into inflating the grades. Teachers who try to give students the grades that they actually earn are beat down by their bosses until they acquiesce
English

Whenever I point out the discrepancy between students’ grades and their test scores, inevitably parents (and some teachers) rush to explain that “some kids just aren’t good test-takers”.
This is similar to the undying myth of “learning styles”. We’ve convinced a lot of parents (and quite a few teachers) that it’s not ineffective instruction or ambiguous curriculum that leads to lack of student learning. It’s easier to blame the elusive test companies.
There’s no question that standardized tests need improvement (thanks to @CLT_Exam for stepping up), but denying that the results of the current tests provide any substantial information is foolish.
Rather than dismissing students as “poor test-takers”, schools need to be honest with parents (and students) about what the results mean and why students’ grades don’t always coincide.

@CyberSecurity__ @cremieuxrecueil You mean double and triple PAYERS for their whole life who before this got cheated.

@cremieuxrecueil Add this to the change last year to allow double- and triple-dippers to get full social security benefits in addition to their other pensions.
