I’m coining the phrase “soak time” to describe dep delays. 🍽️ (deps/dishes it works)
GitHub Changelog@GHchangelog
Dependabot now delays version update PRs until new releases have been available for at least three days by default. • Security update PRs open immediately without delay. github.blog/changelog/2026…

@mitchellh @bradgessler Gold Coast, Australia.
Beaches like you've never experienced before. Theme parks like you've never experienced before.
Theatres like you've probably experienced before, but it's getting better.
This place, is well, just bloody beautiful!
English

@mitchellh @bradgessler aside from having no meetings with leadership of influential companies, I can think of one other places that may top California.
English

I will never understand these takes that conflate California scenery with a high cost of living.
There’s no reason we can’t live in a beautiful state and have a low cost of living. Plenty of other states are doing it.
Mitchell Hashimoto@mitchellh
Zero regrets about the cost of living in CA. The joy of walking to this anytime I want can’t be overstated. Touch grass therapy is strong here.

🚨 FYI, fellow pkg maintainers:
(This was news to me, at least)
Bad actors are pushing "Verified" co-authored commits to further appear legitimate. They set me as the authoring user & tried to use their own GPG key to pass it off as mine.

@sqs @slightlycode That’s exactly the moment when I’ll be in Brisbane :)
English

@sqs @theKashey please catch up with @sqs while he's here, grab a photo for me.
Not sure I'll get a flight down this late :'(
English

@slightlycode I have only ever been to Sydney, but if the rest of the country is even 1/10th as great as Sydney, I want to get to more places here. No Brisbane this trip, heading back on Sat morning.

@aarondfrancis @joshu it's interesting to me that folk switch harness so often. Genuinely curious, why?
English

@joshu I use (and built) soloterm.com which has a built in mcp server that exposes both markdown and todo primitives. I constantly switch between Codex, Amp, and Claude and they all read/write from there or talk directly to each other.
English

@slightlycode @adityathebe @AmpCode Commit hashes can change between when the commit is made and when it's merged onto the main branch. It's too fragile.
English

Apparently @AmpCode does this nonsense as well.
And there's no global configuration that I can set to disable this when working with Orbs.
Aditya Thebe@adityathebe
abhi mein gali nahi de sakta. Uninstalling this piece of garbage rn
English

Can amp store the thread against commit hashes? If the agent needs additional context, amp can surface that from commits an agent wants to learn more about.
I get why Amp, Copilot, Claude etc wanna sign off on commits, but subjectively i've never liked it.
I don't let the LLM think for me, I take responsibility for my commits, and don't want an AI to sign off on them as though it approves. haha
English

you want to stop the Amp thread URL from being in commit messages in Amp orb threads? yeah, you can't configure this globally in orbs now, but you can put the setting from ampcode.com/manual in .amp/settings.json in your repo. we will make this globally configurable.
curious: why do you dislike it? not disputing there are valid reasons to dislike it, just curious what yours are. it does help the agent understand why a change was made.

A few years ago, I released a tiny utility for object canon's in JavaScript.
I recently picked it back up and, well, got a little carried away. 😅
Reintroducing `object-identity` v0.2 🎉
→ 535B
→ zero dependencies
→ ~2× faster than v0.1
→ the fastest canon I've benchmarked
