why: I am so tired of worrying about & spending lots of time fixing memory leaks and crashes and stability issues. it would be so nice if the language provided more powerful tools for preventing these things.

In celebration of @rolldown_rs 1.0 🎉 Announcing `comptime` — a Zig-inspired build-time evaluation primitive, exposed as Vite and Rolldown plugins This allows you run code at build time, replacing the call site(s) with the evaluated output value. github.com/lukeed/comptime

@miguelperedo @slightlycode @steipete @github Hey Miguel. We are currently only b2b and are personally onboarding all new users. We are working on a consumer option right now but if you have a business or a side project you wanted to talk about i'd be happy to talk about it with you

🤖 Kept hitting @github rate limits across my agents. Shipped two things: – RepoBar got a JUICE METER – gitcrawl is now also a drop-in gh cache → symlink it as gh, reads served from local SQLite gitcrawl.sh repobar.app

How is everyone managing their agent SKILL.md files? Is it just chaos? Global skills, repo-specific skills, keeping them in sync between machines, figuring out which ones you have installed, authoring new ones. What are we doing? Does anyone have a sane system?

@jonathangrahl @AmpCode Let's get you in the automatic compaction beta ASAP. Put you on the list. This will mean never needing to think about context windows or handoff again (as long as you keep 1 thread to 1 logical task).

I feel like my @AmpCode deep^2 usage has to change significantly for me to stay productive. I keep running out of context even with a single question in our larger monorepo. Time to try Smart mode again?

If the community wants to save contemporary GitHub we should rally around @kdaigle becoming independent CEO. He has been there since the old days. Knows the soul of the product and knows how to do it.

Yes, I believe so! It came paired with the Parallel Agents release so I assumed it was related/needed to enable that feature. I'm working via the GUI most of the time. Please, is there a setting to opt out from this new opening mode to the old one? If not, I highly encourage you add it!

Zed just rolled out an update that completely breaks my workflow. It merges all windows, messing up window navigation hotkeys. It turns them into workspaces for AI or whatever. Please don't do that. If you disrupt my flow, you're speedrunning my hatred toward your features.

18 years ago, when I was in Australia, I spent a few weeks installing carpet. Worked with a fellow German. He'd been in Australia for two years at that point and had picked up a verbal tick: he used the word "reckon" around 87 times a day. Now, whenever I hear "reckon", I think of him and installing carpet in a race track's VIP tent. Interesting story? Not really. But I'll feel better knowing that there's a sligh chance that now someone else will also think of carpet whenever someone says "whaddaya reckon?"

As @fat once told me, "you know its serious when @mitchellh starts putting markdown in the commit messages." And I think of that moment everytime I write markdown in some commit messages and nod my head.
