Suddenly, some “experts” are peddling the narrative of a sudden heatwave. As if it’s a new phenomenon and India is witnessing such temperatures for the first time. All this is being done to portray that the government is cutting trees for development. PM Modi launched the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. He encouraged crores of Indians to plant more and more trees. I want to ask the opposition who among them participated in this campaign. Never once did they encourage people to plant more trees or protect the environment. PM Modi is the only one inspiring crores of Indians through his initiative.

A 7 year old child is dead. Not from disease. Not from an accident. But because he bought a golgappa from a roadside thela in Jharkhand. 18 others hospitalised. According to the civil surgeon, food poisoning was detected. I know small vendors are just trying to make a living. But making a living cannot come at the cost of someone else's life. If you are selling food to the public, even from a thela, even for 10 rupees a plate, you are responsible for every single life that eats it. India has food safety laws. FSSAI exists. Licences are required even for street vendors. But nobody checks, nobody enforces, and the fines are so small they mean nothing. And this happens. Again. And again. And again. The punishment for selling contaminated food that kills someone should be criminal, not just a fine. Until that happens, people will keep dying, and we will keep writing the same shocked headlines every day.
