@rickjeff78 That meant to be sarcastic. Those guys embraced him, pitched in to his re-election and now are being screwed by him. Did Rex Tillerson’s experience teach them nothing? Where are “there will be blood” tough oilmen? Was it all a myth? They turned out to be gullible snowflakes

Trump is rambling about gas stations and gas prices for one reason: He was told by Bessent that gasoline is likely to double from here and he's positioning them as the boogeyman who caused it.

@TommyBeer Terrible take. Dolan isn’t cheap. Moreover, he only pays ~ 20% of the bill because the public shareholders of the team pay the rest

@patrick_oshag Equity markets have been on fire and the Knicks have been through a long-term drought. It’s not that much of a surprise, once you get past the initial sticker shock.

Ari's bet on live sports and events has been so right In a world of a 4-day work week and infinite content, the demand for live is only going up Knicks Finals tickets are at all-time highs US Open tennis tickets broke last year's records And the limit of what people will pay for premium experiences has essentially no ceiling
Patrick OShaughnessy@patrick_oshag

My conversation with @AriEmanuel centers on the multibillion-dollar "anti-AI bet" he’s making on live events, sports, and IP. As AI makes digital content cheaper and everyday work more automated, he believes the economic value will concentrate in live and physical experiences. It’s the thesis behind a portfolio that includes the marquee assets in live entertainment -- the UFC, WWE, and his new company MARI, which owns Frieze and the Miami and Madrid Opens. We talk about why he’s betting so heavily on that future, how AI will change content and IP, and the simple principles that have guided his success. Ari is relentlessly aggressive in pursuit of what he wants, and that intensity comes through in this conversation. Enjoy! St. John’s Remaining Center Options: Luigi Sugio - 7’3 (Italy) • Declared for 2026 NBA Draft • Being Pursued by multiple premier college programs Alexandros Samodurov - 6’11 (Greece) • Plays for Panathinaikos (Pitino coached there previously) • Not 7 ft+ big but very skilled Vince Iwuchukwu - 7’1 (G’Town) • Played for St. John’s in 2024 • Going through process of being granted a medical waiver but currently out of eligibility Ruben Prey - 6’11 (St. John’s) • Has the size to play center but is best at PF • Lacking strength for a starting center • Would give St. John’s ability to spend money earmarked for Diop on a talented wing or guard #SJUBB

Ken Griffin is “appalled” that Zohran used his $238m Manhattan penthouse in his tax the rich promotional video Citadel is now apparently considering bailing on their construction plans to build a new office in Midtown. The project would involve $6 billion in spending and would create 15k permanent jobs in NYC according to Citadel’s COO "It is shameful that he used Ken's name as the example of those who supposedly aren't carrying their fair share of the burdens associated with New York City's often costly and wasteful spending," the email said. "In doing so, the mayor has once again manifested the ignorance and disdain of the elite political class towards those who have been consistently committed to building one of the greatest cities in the world." Would be both incredibly petty but also hilarious if Citadel backed out of their plans over this

@pickeringenergy Even accepting those #’s as gospel, GOR has been creeping up and that trend is highly likely to continue especially with less drilling in ‘26.

Looking to 2026 - OPEC+ production will be higher y/y (even though they've paused, average production will still be up y/y). US producers are flat/up in 2026 (PEP's research coverage shows our covered companies ~+2% y/y). Somebody has to blink or inventory hits Covid highs.

The US EIA thinks oil markets are oversupplied by 2mmbopd (IEA 3.8mmbopd, OPEC 0.0mmbopd). Oversupplied markets typically see price pressure. Price usually goes down until supply starts to reduce. We haven't found that price yet.

@TeddyGambino Last I checked about a month or so ago, agency MBS was trading ~ 125bps back versus recent history of something closer to 80bps. If they start buying agency mbs and get it to tighten to ~ 80bps, confirming mortgage rates should come down a like amount.

@UnintendedCons5 There were ~ 350k barrels of oil production adds from projects in thre Gulf in 2025. That # decreases to ~ 75k in 2026.

Texas oil production fell for the 4th straight month. L48 oil production was flat overall. The overall gain was offshore.

When I decided to start an energy investment fund, the two natural places to do it were Houston (more industry talent) and NYC (more capital). The deciding factor was taxes. That choice ultimately meant 100s of jobs across multiple orgs were created in Houston rather than NY. 1/4

@DosNomad @CRUDEOIL231 As an old boss of mine used to say, it is hard to hedge being wrong. That’s the nature of trading natural gas. There is still a lot of year left to make it back.

I recorded my biggest loss of the year on #Natgas. Quite a few colleagues and Fintwits had a short-term bullish outlook on Natgas, but the majesty of nature made that disappear. I have been trading Natgas for many years, but this summer has been the most dynamic yet. I would take this opportunity to add to my common stock positions in Natgas producers from a long-term perspective. The YTD return on my fund book was cut in half. I was recording the highest profitability in my career, but I suffered a major setback and had to submit a letter of reflection to my boss. It's not an easy thing to do. I need to give myself feedback and try again. But today I feel like drinking lol Every time a trade fails, it seems to be quite helpful to write down my thoughts in this space. Good luck to everyone :)

@DarrellSto67629 @tommacinnis Not taking a position on MEG / CVE, but it is simply untrue to say that reputable journalists such as at the Wall Street Journal or Reuters don’t cite unnamed sources when reporting on live M&A matters

@tommacinnis I would like to agree with this to salve my ego. In over 30 years as a reporter I have never reported a rumour without verification or used an unnamed source. But too often these things turn out to be true

Anyone ‘leaking’ inside info about what Cenovus or other parties are doing is an amateur loser on their way out of industry and I doubt is in the inner circle. Why any self respecting reporter would endorse with their name is just gross - and you’re taking it as fact?

@TeddyGambino He’s right. The part that he misses and will find out by the end of his term the hard way, is that it going to require high $70s WTI initially to get to it and then ~ $85+ shortly thereafter. He can throw his toys at OPEC and US producers all he wants at that point. Won’t help

Younger bro needs dental implants, $25k to start the convo, could grow depending on if other procedures needed. Not happy about it but not going to let my bro suffer or get dentures. This I’m certain about, any $ I spend will come back to me +10X.
