@smallStateUK

No political party is serious about what the UK needs: cuts across all govt departments, NHS, civil servants, pensions, everything. Less state, more freedom.

You're much more of a slave to the 1% that commit 50% of crimes than you are to the 1% that create 40% of the wealth.

@satt_mr @EndWokeness This is BS. 99% of gay people are happy as things stand, at least in the country I'm from. The whole pronouns circus is mostly a US thing, nothing to do with people's sexuality which in a free country they should be entitled to do whatever they want with. There is no agenda.

@smallStateUK @BigBenBaxter @RobKenyonReform Not quite, I work large amounts of overtime it would make me a lot better off, but at what cost elsewhere? This statement alone isn’t enough to get a vote from me

Reform will reward hard graft with fair pay. This policy to remove tax from overtime would have been a godsend for me a few years ago. It will help loads of people in Makerfield and Wigan.

@SimonMagus Because this is a gimmick. To cut income tax, they'd have to tell us how they're gonna cut government spending. But reform voters love a big state government that spends left and right

Reform UK have announced a plan to make overtime tax-exempt. I'm sceptical this makes sense - more soon. But an interesting question: if you were the Chancellor, and you were making a £5bn tax cut... what tax would you cut? What would have the maximum positive impact?

@ZiaYusufUK Oh but the people on 62% marginal income tax can keep being punished? Cut the size of the state already. Tell us which govt departments you will cut. Just tell us already.

It’s time to stop PUNISHING people who work the hardest and drowning them in taxes like the Tory Labour uniparty. A Reform government will ABOLISH INCOME TAX on overtime pay. Britain was built on the hard labour of people who go the extra mile. Thank you!

@reformparty_uk This will overcomplicate the tax code for no reason, create more loopholes, etc. We need to cut everyone's tax by cutting the size of the state. Tell us what govt departments will be cut first to allow for tax cuts.

@Keir_Starmer When are you cutting the deficit your government is creating? Don't worry about the US and Iran, worry about the problems that you created and that you can fix.

I welcome the progress towards an agreement between the US and Iran. We need to see an agreement that brings the conflict to an end and reopens the Strait of Hormuz, with unconditional and unrestricted freedom of navigation. It’s vital that Iran must never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon. My government will continue to do everything we can to protect British people from the impact of this conflict. We will work with our international partners to seize this moment and achieve a long-term diplomatic settlement.

inews.co.uk/news/savers-co… Only the party that gave us the 62% marginal tax rate (Labour) could come up with a proposal to tax money in a tax-free account. Yet more rules, more tax, more control. We want freedom from Rachel Reeves.

@sophielouisecc Absolutely not. It makes the tax code even more complex, and is open to abuse. We need to cut tax for everyone by cutting the size of the state. Enough tinkering around at the edges. Someone must cut the size of government!

@B_Disappointed @StuartMaggs Reform needs to stop tinkering with these proposals that only make the tax code more complicated and open for abuse. The size of the state needs to be cut, and everyone's taxes need to go down. It's very simple really. No gimmicks.

I've only been thinking about this for about 10 minutes, but take someone earning, say, £50k in a 40 hour week doing an hour's overtime (extra £1,250 a year). Their hourly rate is currently £24/hr. They could agree to change their contract so that: - The first 40 hours a week would be paid at £12.71 (minimum wage) - The next additional hour a week would be paid at £477.18/hr - Above that, each hour would be paid at £24/hr. This saves them about £5,000 in income tax a year. No change to working pattern or salary.
The Telegraph@Telegraph

Nigel Farage has pledged to axe income tax on overtime as he vows to “make work pay”. If Reform UK wins the next general election, people who earn less than £75,000 and work overtime above a 40-hour week will pay no income tax on the extra hours. 🔗: telegraph.co.uk/politics/2026/…

@BenGrahamUK Meanwhile people making £110k are paying 62% marginal tax (no overtime!), but who cares! Let them keep funding more exuberant proposals that make the tax code increasingly complicated. We need to cut government size and cut taxes for ALL

@bigpicturepol @ZiaYusufUK @biggle1908 Instead of cutting the size of the state to allow for tax cuts for EVERYONE, they are tinkering with tax on overtime for people under £75k, and won't tell us which government departments will be cut. So I'm going to assume this will create a deficit. Labour on steroids.

@therestofusYT @StennerMax @Teunemansvb @RestoreBritain_ That might be how they brand themselves -- but nowhere on their website are we told which government departments they would cut, and by how much. Just some vague statements about cutting taxes but nothing about actually cutting spending. A classic.
