For all of you who're worried, this is as reliable a source as you can get. Stick to the same precautions that you should do when any of us have a common cold: wear a mask, wash hands, and avoid contact with others to the extent possible.

#HMPvirus is nothing to panic about. It’s a known virus that causes respiratory infections, mostly mild. Rather than jump at detection of every pathogen, we shld all take normal precautions when we have a cold: wear a mask, wash hands, avoid crowds, consult Dr if severe symptoms

Delivered a lecture on "Low dose immunotherapy in melanoma!" at ESMO Asia 2024, Singapore.
Thank you @myESMO
It will improve access to costly drugs and will reduce toxicities.
We must learn/collaborate with Netherland to conduct RCTs for rationalization of resources.

Much needed statement issued by @TataMemorial . This should clear any misconception that cancer patients or caregivers may have after recent viral video about use of diet and other methods to achieve so called " CURE " for the advanced cancer . Let's avoid such misconceptions if we really want to fight this disease @cspramesh @Prasshmehta @SirohiBhawna @drshonanag

Lung Connect was a part of the NGO brainstorming and patient advocacy panel discussion at the Chattisgarh Cancer Conclave held jointly with the '5th edition of @ecancer conference - choosing wisely' at Naya Raipur . The theme was " common sense oncology - outcomes that matter '. The cancer conclave was conducted and organised by the @BalcoMedical !
The agenda of the panel discussion was -
1. Collaboration
2. Raising the voice of the patient
3. Supporting clinical trials
4. Choosing wisely and keeping the patient as the focus!
5. Ways to strengthen patient advocacy.
It was a great learning experience that will help us strengthen the cause of Lung cancer in India.

@Prasshmehta So true... Learnt that from you long time back... !
English

The worst possible things to say to a patient and a family when they come to you for an opinion or advise or further treatment
( And I have learnt these over many years only , takes time )
1- Aap pehle aa jaate to zyaada accha ilaaj ho sakta ttha ( You should have come to us earlier)
2- Arrey aap pehle uss hospital mein kyun gaye tthe ?
( Why did you go to that hospital earlier ?)
3- Playing with percentages ‘Arrey unhone aapko 80 % cure rate bataaya , 90 % cure rate hota haii’
Why patients chose to come to you , or why they need to go somewhere else , why they are not able to come earlier , there are several factors responsible, convenience, comfort , trust , finances , social pressures , logistics, social barriers, who are we to judge ?
Being Non-judgemental towards patients and colleagues, is the most important quality of a Doctor , easier said than done , but we need to make an effort at least .
In Real time what decisions are taken by family/ treating teams and why , it is near impossible to judge and comment on , medicine is imperfect and truly complex !

English

Results of our Phase III RCT of addition of Triple OMCT to Chemotherapy in platinum sensitive HNSCC.
Both significant PFS and OS benefit, somewhat similar to CETUXI.
Immediately practice changing for those who can't afford IO/Cetuximab.

@shaunak_3 @ddmanek So true... These little angels will get their sleep as and when they can, and you càn keep wondering when can you get sleep! And the moment you close your eyes, they'll come and want you to play!!! 😂😂

The secret of survival is to think like a soldier - you eat when you can, you rest when you can.
The secret of parenting is also similar, but a slight difference- you eat IF you can, you rest IF you can😆
