@TheAstrosLocker Crane sells the team and Bagwell and Biggio have no more input on personnel decisions. I don't trust Crane to fix a problem he created.

When I was in school, a "B+" was a 92 and an "A-" was a 93-95. What was considered an A when you were in school?

@JeremyBranham I would keep Matthews #1 and at 2B for the next month and see what he can do playing his natural defenisve position and getting consistent ABs. You need to figure out if he's part of the future or not. I'd also roll that OF out there for the next month as well.

High Ranking Rockets sources: - They believe the young core can contend for the next decade. - Udoka & KD will remain an essential part of the team's future - “We don't want to make the mistake other teams have of giving up on guys too soon. We want a 10-year run." Thoughts?

Nick Caserio on the Marlin Klein pick on Texans All Access: “Reality is we were at 59, there were a few trade scenarios that were on the table for us to move back, we were close to making a trade to move back. We felt like if we moved back a few spots, still had a shot to possibly get the player. The trades kinda fell through, we picked Marlin cause that’s who we teed up as the next player.” I view this similarly to the Rutledge & McDonald picks in the sense that they made sure to get the guys they wanted. With not being able to trade back & still select him, selecting him at 59 instead can be viewed as a “trade up” for positioning in a sense imo. Also feels like early in the draft Texans made a concerted effort to target “their guys” at 3 of the biggest positions of need.

I'm a mom to a 13 year old boy, and I'm still in shock over what he did. He's been seeing a girl from his class for a few months, and yesterday she came to our house. While I was downstairs cooking dinner, I suddenly heard crying and rushed upstairs. I found his girlfriend in tears, covering her face. When I asked what was wrong, my son said she ruined his video game. Then I asked her what happened, and she said my son had slapped her. I was really upset but knew hitting back wasn't the solution. So, I took the girl to the kitchen to help her calm down. When her mom came to pick her up, I apologized for my son's behavior and suggested they take some time apart for now…

@buywithmiller @HamptonAc_ Yeah, why is not escrowing the insurance, principle, and taxes together. Also, if he has an extra 3K a month, he should be putting at least half to paying down the principal on his home.

@HamptonAc_ Well, can you please explain how his "mortage" doesnt include insurance and taxes? Bc $2500/mo could be an extremely wide range of a home. But if youre saying that taxes, insurance and HOA are 50% of what his mortgage is, then how tf is the economy "cooked"? Id say hes a dumbass

A friend of mine from college days just bought a house in Katy last year. Makes $200K/year in Texas. Wife and kid. Called me last week like "bro, the economy is actually cooked." I laughed. "you make $200K, man. what you crying about" He then showed me the math... $200K in Texas = $12,800/month take-home > $2,510 mortgage > $620 property taxes (Texas will bleed you quietly) > $350 homeowners insurance > $150 HOA (for a gate, a pond, and a newsletter nobody reads) > $1,800 health insurance for the family > $1,000 daycare for ONE kid > $1,050 groceries > $500 car note > $220 car insurance > $350 utilities > $375 home maintenance Total: $8,925 He's left with $3,875. Then, he still has student loans, date nights and holidays sitting on the side. A decade ago… A quarter of that salary is what somebody needed to buy that same house and raise that same family. Now $200,000 a year and you're still watching your account like something is wrong. The economy is really cooked for 9-5ers

He’s the ‘moderate guy’ - but he’s anything but. Trust me, don’t let them fool you. They don’t have to be screaming at the top of their lungs like Spartacus to be a radical.”

@JeremyBranham Alvarez, Pena, Brown, and Hader need to be traded. None will be on the team when they are ready to compete again. This is what happens when you have bad development in the minors both in pitching and hitting, and you sign bad FAs with QOs and lose draft picks.

Assuming the Astros are out of the race in July, would you trade Yordan? I'm on the fence because I love watching him hit, but that trade could be a catalyst to the future golden era.

I voted to extend TPS for Haitians because I cannot, in good conscience, send people who were lawfully granted protection here, followed our laws, and built lives under our rules back to rape, murder, and chaos in a lawless Haiti. This is completely separate from amnesty or illegal immigration. Conflating the two is dangerous.

LOL you are not paying more in property taxes here than you did in income tax in CA unless you have a very weird situation. Don't lie. Additionally, let's not forget to factor in that sales tax there can be up to nearly 12% and the ridiculous gas taxes along with all of the other stupid govt fees there. Don't be daft.

Senator Joe Manchin
Senator Joe Manchin@Sen_JoeManchin·
When Democrats wanted to eliminate the filibuster in 2022, I stood my ground because I understood the consequences of turning the Senate into a glorified House with simple majority rule. Senator John Cornyn said of Democrats at the time: “They'll soon find themselves rueing the day their party broke the Senate.” The filibuster exists to make both sides work together and produce good legislation that can withstand the test of time. Eliminating the filibuster would consolidate even more power into the hands of the majority party’s leadership — and take power away from the minority and everyday Americans. When I was a U.S. Senator, there was not another person more committed to keeping the filibuster than Senator John Cornyn. He understood the incredible political pressure I faced from my former party to get rid of the filibuster and give Democrats complete power — and at the time, he understood why neither party should take our country past this point of no return. The filibuster — the soul of the Senate — has preserved the Senate’s role for nearly 250 years as the institution that cools passions, protects minority voices, and demands consensus. America was built on institutions designed to resist political convenience, not surrender to it. It’s deeply disappointing to see that Senator Cornyn is now willing to scrap the very rule he once praised and personally thanked me for defending. These extreme election-year politics that put party power over everything else are why Americans are sick and tired of the duopoly of the two-party system of Democrats and Republicans.
