As of 430pm, storms were approaching southwest Minnesota. These storms are expected to move across southern MN into western WI later this evening. The main threat is damaging wind, and a few tornadoes are possible as well #mnwx #wiwx

Southern #mnwx has now been upgraded to a 45%# risk of wind today! A moderate risk was considered for high wind which would require only a CIG2 in that 45% area!

elevated risk of severe wx across the southern half of MN today. All hazards possible with a strong tornado not out of the question in SW MN today. I feel the wind threat will be greatest around the metro region and N & E as this should evolve into a strong MCS by this evening. Expect lots of watches and warnings as we head into the night! There is a bit of timing and placement differences so don't be surprised to see some unexpected shifts.

The main line of storms that should start our MCS looks to be underway across northern #newx this noon. Main question will be whether this holds together and organizes into the main show or if it fizzles and refires this afternoon. Kinda surprised this is not warned for hail though. A major MCS with 70 MPH+ winds looks likely tonight across much of the southern half of #MNWX.
