I swear we are living in a software enshitification era. Notion just crashes completely if you click on the wrong workspace or even section of a workspace. Cursor has gotten 1000x more laggy than when it first became popular. Codex app is almost unusable if you have a long thread open (I should really start using @theo’s t3code). Figma has some random inexplicable bugs that weren’t happening a few months ago. What is even happening??

my friend was looking to get a website made, a simple blog site, Wordpress was the recommendation by most people. He went to a company asking for a Wordpress site, they quoted him $1,500 + $200 for SSL + $50 monthly hosting.
We're so early, people are still paying for SSL man.

Setting up authentication has always been a pain, even with agentic coding (plz never ask your agent to spin up your own custom auth). I really gotta give it to @clerk for providing the best/easiest integration to automatically set up auth for our users building applications on @predotdev. I wanted my civil wedding dress to honor the 3 chaotic, beautiful years in Greece where I met my husband. I think I nailed the tribute!

Minecraft was the greatest CS education ever made. And nobody planned it that way.
At 12 I was obsessed. Wanted my own servers. So I learned Bukkit, Java plugins, basic networking, Linux deployment. Built worlds that only exist in my mind but still feel completely real.
I broke wifi routers and fixed them. Broke Windows configs and fixed them.
Tinkering, breaking stuff, and fixing it later is how we learn stuff best when we are kids.

not really hot cause codex is giving x2 on all plans when using codex (so 20=40) but claude doesnt on the pro plan. An claude does x20 on the 200$ plan so (4000 > 400)

New from me: Y Combinator is no longer investing in Canadian startups.
The accelerator recently cut Canada from its list of countries where enrolled firms can be incorporated. They'll now need a new parent company in the U.S., Cayman Islands or Singapore.

The current architecture is indeed suboptimal. We are in the process of decoupling the monolith and now about to accelerate an incremental migration to a modern frontend stack. This will allow us to have higher velocity and better DX. I’ll post more soon when we officially get started.
