When this nation can create billion dollar funds for political allies and supporters, but still will not address reparations for the descendants of slaves, that is not incapacity. That is choice.
America is capable of repair. It has yet to choose justice.

“Without you, we were knocked out in the first round, that’s first. Let’s just stop there. We’re in a great position, you’ve played great, and sometimes micro experiences get exaggerated. Just keep being yourself.”
Atkinson also defended James, praising him as a strong isolation defender.

Love this! If all black athletes refused to go to schools in states where politicians are doing BLATANTLY RACIST things to drown out the voices of the black electorate, it could inspire them to change these policies.
Sadly, I don’t think enough kids will refuse to attend these schools to have a profound effect, but I applaud the effort.

We can’t celebrate Black excellence on the playing field or court while ignoring Black voices at the ballot box. I stand with @TheBlackCaucus and the @NAACP to oppose the SCORE Act because our athletes matter – and so does representation.

NAACP President Derrick Johnson: The NAACP is calling on athletes coming out of high school not to attend any state-funded schools of states that have moved to minimize our right to vote. The NAACP will fight in solidarity with the CBC to ensure that we have representation, and if we don't, we will withhold the talent that play on the football field on the basketball court in this moment.
