A friend told me about a man who wants to sell his land because he needs money for surgery. They put the land for 4 Million naira, i pleaded to pay 3.5m. He agreed, but insist i give him 2m naira immediately cos thats what he needs to pay immediately at the hospital for his surgery and ask me to balance up this January I transfered the money to him immediately and we both signed a written agreement to that effect. I went to his place yesterday to pay up the balance, only for the man's children to come and say their father did not inform them about the land sale and i was like ask you father na The father too was saying, it's true that he did not inform them that he sold the Land and the children said the transaction can not be completed until they make their own decision. So the father is saying maybe he should lease the Land to me, i rejected the offer and the children are saying i should fo my worst that they are not selling their Land. You are not the legal owner of that land yet. Family receipt, land sales agreement doesn’t transfer ownership of land to you in Nigeria. Until the day you get the Required Deed, thats the day you become the legal owner of that land. Prior to the day you get the required deed, if disputes arise What you will get is refund of your money, not the Land So in this your own case This only option available to you is to sue the man for Breach of agreement and demand for full refund of your 2 million naira and 5 or 10 million naira damages fee. If the court awards something huge and they can't pay it Dem go later forfeit the Land to you and you become the legal through court judgement If the land is in a very important place and no amount of damages can satisfy you You can sue for specific performance, so the court will compel them to transfer the land to you. But it's the court that will determine if damages won't be enough or you. Specific performance comes to play when damages are inadequate as the land is very unique for what you want to use it for of which they know about before selling to you Example If you buy a land close to your hotel to use as car park. Its very unique cos no compensation will be enough cos you need the car park, hope you understand The specific performance own is not sure, but damages is sure in this your own case Ignorance of the law is no excuse © Atanda

IPOB Deputy Head of Directorate Mazi Tony Nzurumike Addresses Biafrans in Emergency Broadcast In an emergency broadcast aired on Radio Biafra and Biafra Television on Saturday, 28 March 2026, Mazi Tony Ogechukwu Nzurumike, Deputy Head of the Directorate of State (DOS) of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), spoke directly to Biafrans worldwide, emphasizing institutional integrity, zero tolerance for corruption, and the need for collective resilience in the ongoing struggle for self-determination. Nzurumike highlighted the critical role of the Directorate of State (DOS), describing it as an essential institution for oversight and checks and balances within IPOB. He noted that prior to 2022, the DOS faced significant obstructions in performing its duties, but in the past four to five years, it has recorded substantial achievements that must be protected for the benefit of the Biafran people. "The soul of the indigenous people of Biafra cannot be saved without pertinent checks and balances," he stated, underscoring that the DOS functions as a safeguard against arbitrary decision-making. The Deputy Head took a firm position against fiscal corruption and indiscipline, declaring that any such acts are "damnable and must be damned," irrespective of the perpetrators' status or location. He linked past lapses in DOS functionality to avoidable losses, stating that many deaths and setbacks could have been prevented if the institution had operated as originally designed. With the DOS now functioning effectively under Head Mazi Chike Edoziem, he expressed optimism that the Biafra restoration project would accelerate. Nzurumike lauded Mazi Chike Edoziem's leadership of the DOS, describing him as a man of "impeccable character" who ensures decisions undergo thorough discussion and superior argumentation within the collective body. He stressed that no single individual can lead the struggle alone, rejecting any narcissistic or tyrannical tendencies and affirming that "Biafra is bigger than any one of us." The broadcast reaffirmed IPOB's commitment to a non-violent model of civil resistance, public pressure, moral suasion, and broad coalitions. Nzurumike cited recent diplomatic and lobbying efforts by IPOB chapters in Spain, Ireland, Russia, the United Kingdom, Italy, and elsewhere as evidence of sustained global outreach. He invoked an Igbo ancestral creed to encourage perseverance amid challenges, blackmail, and internal distractions, urging aggrieved or disappointed Biafrans to refocus on the core objective: total freedom from what he termed "the British experiment called Nigeria." Condemnation of Nigerian Policies and Terrorism Nzurumike sharply criticized the Nigerian government, both the previous Buhari administration and the current Tinubu administration, for what he described as lenient policies toward terrorists, including Boko Haram and marauding Fulani herdsmen. I stepped outside and challenged myself to stare at the sun. Honestly, I couldn’t do it, it was too bright. I couldn’t even keep my eyes fully open. It was just too bright! Then a thought hit my heart: “If the sun is this bright, and it’s millions of miles away, how bright is the One who created it?” At that point I just humbled myself immediately. Because clearly, if I can’t handle the sun, how do I want to handle God? No wonder the Bible says in 1 Timothy 6:16 that God dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. It makes perfect sense now! And then you remember Moses, after just a partial encounter with God’s glory, his face shone so brightly for days. The Israelites were like, “Sir… please cover that thing.” 😭 He literally had to wear a veil because the brightness was too much for them. So imagine the full glory of God… ah! No human being can stand that. Not even for one second. That’s why it’s so deep that God chose to come in a way we could handle. He didn’t show up in full blazing glory; instead, He came in human form through Jesus, so we could actually look at Him, talk to Him, and relate with Him without fainting on the spot. Jesus is the visible image of the invisible God, the version of God our eyes can handle without going blind. Honestly… what a marvelous, wise, and loving God. 🙌
