@ThePosieParker Hmmmm. Where I live brown bears are commonplace. If I go hiking I carry bear spray. Bears will only bother you if it is a mama with cubs or they are starving. Otherwise they keep their distance. Weird men in the woods? Not so much.

I pick bear. And I know I'm right because I live in the forest. The women that don't live in the woods are innocent of the ways of the woods. The bears are watching and they rarely approach. They don't want to run into ppl. 1 has to “ cross paths” with a bear. I've walked in the forest every day for years and have only encountered a bear twice in my life because The bears avoid ppl at all costs. Men seek women. It is in their nature. I recently had an encounter at the entrance of one of the Pennsylvania State Parks. A nefarious man who pretended not to hear me while walking towards me in a abandoned area where it was just him and me. I had to brandish my very sharp scissors (which I brought to cut wild flowers, thank god) to get him to veer in the other direction. It was an opportunistic moment for him and I could see him weighing it in his head. He looked about for cameras and saw that the parking lot had a good chanceof being camera surveilled but he still advanced towards me. I couldn't get to my car fast enough. I moved quickly to get the car between me and him. But even then, I was still afraid to try to open the drivers side door. I thought it would give him time to run around the vehicle and attack me in a awkward defensive position. So, I stood behind my vehicle and showed him my sharp scissors and said “snip snip. Try me. I'll gouge your eyes out.”

@TheBritishIntel I don't know who needs to hear this, but it can take so long to cope with trauma. A year is nothing, please don't give up. We need to support victims with counselling and other services, it's not enough just to punish the perp.

RAPE VICTIM DIES AFTER ATTACK IN SOUTHAMPTON A young woman was raped in a Southampton park after being led into bushes by a man she had just met. The attacker was later jailed for eight years and four months, with an extended licence period. The victim took her own life just over a year later after struggling to cope with the trauma.

This is Nathan Ellis, 39, from Tywyn, in Wales. Mr. Ellis was just given an 18 month suspended sentence for the possession of 1,137 indecent images and 413 explicit videos of children. The victims ranged in age from 1-16. 561 of the images and 197 of the videos were of the most severe Category A type. Investigators also found 29 videos of Mr. Ellis raping a dog, which was obviously in pain. Ellis was allowed to plead to just six counts of possessing indecent images or videos (two counts each for Categories A, B, and C) and a seventh charge for possessing extreme pornography. He was sentenced to 18 months, which Judge Rhys Rowlands, “not without some misgivings,” suspended. Ellis was arrested in May of 2023 after police received a tip that he was uploading child sexual abuse material to Kik. Chat logs found in Ellis’s computer revealed that he had discussed the sexual abuse of children online, and had asked one individual for images of that person’s daughter. This individual, who is reportedly under investigation, sent Mr. Ellis a pair of child’s underwear. In return, Ellis sent this man an image of himself, holding the underwear next to his penis. Ellis also has three previous convictions for earlier offences, but I was unable to discover the nature of those crimes.

My father tried to please my mother in this way for their entire marriage. Nothing was ever good enough, something was always “wrong” and in my adulthood he told me, “I love her but I will never be able to please her.” She did the same to me much of my life, I now care for her because of her dementia and it has magnified. How sad to live in a constant state of dissatisfaction and displeasure.

A grumpy man can control a family without ever raising his voice. He just has to make his displeasure expensive enough. A long silence at dinner. A ruined car ride. Soon, everyone starts pre-adjusting. The kids are told “not now” before they can ask. She chooses the restaurant he likes, the movie he won’t complain through, the route that avoids traffic because traffic makes him unbearable. This is how a household becomes organized around one person’s refusal to regulate themselves.
