FYI a significant amount of @FMCSA data was removed from public availability today. Most of these were the daily update datasets. The monthly snapshots are still there (minus a handful). If you are using @SearchCarriers or other vetting platforms, be aware the data may be 24 hours behind. I am trying to find out more about this change and will share once I know more.

The media has been and will continue to be the problem. It's never been so easy to manipulate the masses. Do you know who I am? Do you know who the next account in the timeline is? Most of you don't. I could be a foreign agent. I could be a bot for a politician. I could be anyone. This was fine when the internet was nerds just hanging out in video games lobbies or talking hobbies. But now it's a primary source of information. Now it impacts your daily life. It influences votes. Faux "free speech" platforms exist to manipulate and control. Look at Reddit. It has been botted since 2015 when Russia realized they could interfere with American culture through anonymous online bots. It's only gotten worse since then. More people pulling the strings, more platforms to leverage. Stoking your anger and building the divide to crumble our country from within. We continue to let the politicians, foreign governments, and other figures behind the curtain manipulate us. It's on you to stop getting sucked into the rhetoric. Be your own person. Step out of line and wake up.

@sorrellio @TimothyDooner It was a snarky and sarcastic shot at the folks claiming that the EO was driving rates up when it was really the impact of road check week which has had a similar effect every year for the last decade.

Now that Secretary Road Rules has removed hundreds of thousands of drivers from the roads who can't recite all of War and Peace from memory, rates have certainly skyrocketed above $5/mile nationally. Let me check to verify.

The point of the post, which as been reenforced by the subsequent discussion, is that there's a tremendous amount of nuance and ambiguity around this issue and the market impact is far from known. Do fleets that higher obese drivers, prone to sleep apnea and other sleep-related conditions, cut corners on safety and equipment? I know this isn't the sexiest suggestion in the world, but maybe it would be helpful to study if non-ELP drivers are actually more unsafe and if those fleets cut other corners.
