@nomodem I don't know how you arrived at that conclusion based on this post, but I wouldn't say your post is in any way accurate. It's just a way to help people be more efficient and courteous with asynchronous communication.

@ashole71 @it_unprofession yeah you still say hello, but you follow up with whatever you need in the same message instead of waiting for a response to your greeting. It's a helpful paradigm.

My boss just sent me a Slack message that says "hey do you have a sec?" No context. Just the digital equivalent of a tap on the shoulder before an execution. I replied "sure, what's up?" two minutes ago. The little indicator says he's typing. He's been typing for three solid minutes. What could possibly take three minutes to type? Are we restructuring the entire org chart? Am I being fired via a multi-paragraph manifesto? I checked his calendar and he has a meeting with HR at noon. My heart rate is currently higher than it was during my last stress test. He finally hit send. "Do you know how to convert a PDF to a Word doc?" I'm going to bill the company for my future cardiology appointments.

Researchers have created a new device that uses ultrasound to trigger smells directly in the brain for VR The small device rests on the forehead with a soft gel pad. It sends gentle sound waves through the skull to the area of the brain that processes smell. Current VR smell systems use cartridges that need constant refills and can make a mess. This new method is cleaner and could one day let people smell virtual worlds like forests or oceans naturally. The project is still in early prototype stage from a small research team. Safety levels were kept low, but more testing is needed.

Mormonism is what happens when people are left to their own desires and their own counsel. Having rejected the truth, they follow after what appeals to them, twisting doctrine around the will of man rather than the will of God. What they call exaltation ends up elevating the very things Scripture warns against: pride, self-glory, and the pursuit of pleasure. But, all is not lost. My LDS kinsmen, you can read your bible and see the lies in the Mormon church. Accept Christ, accept that there is one God only!

@Latterdaytruth #1 needs work. Laws don't necessarily correlate with objective morals. Sometimes some people are able to get legislation passed to make things they find rude illegal. I would put the vast majority of speeding in this category, because most of it isn't dangerous.

1. It’s morally wrong to willfully violate the law. 2. Speeding is a violation of the law. Conclusion: Willfully speeding is morally wrong. Thoughts?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
The First Presidency has announced new age-group names for young women—names that reflect their identity, growth, and purpose. The new age-group names are: • Builders of Faith (young women turning 12 or 13) • Messengers of Hope (young women turning 14 or 15) • Gatherers of Light (young women turning 16 or older) Young Women General President Emily Belle Freeman said the spiritual significance of the names became especially clear to her during a recent visit with young women in Tahiti. “As the girls sang, I was inspired to think of these covenant-keeping young women whose purpose and mission would be to build faith, share hope, and gather and reflect light around the world,” President Freeman said. “My eyes teared up as I realized the Spirit had been leading this process all along, inspiring names of faith, hope, and light that would help God’s daughters live as disciples of Christ and prepare them to enter a lifelong sisterhood of charity—the Relief Society.” Learn more by visiting the link below: newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/young-…

I can almost guarantee anyone who hates tomatoes would probably like actual vine ripened tomatoes. The reason for this is that most store bought tomatoes are force ripened and lack a lot of flavor as a result.
