@arvofart @TheAlexSylvian This is the only one I know and I know it from on TV 30 years ago. Do they all end with the hero defeating the villain because he didn't clean his gun or something?

@TheAlexSylvian It’s the second best action thriller adaptation of The Most Dangerous Game from the early 1990s where the main character is homeless, but it’s a close second

@defnottony56468 @FeralHeather I don't hold it against them at all. I was just shocked and shared as an anecdotal confirmation of what the op said. Whenever I complain about widespread issues with students it's always from the understanding that it's systematic and not individual character flaws or whatever.

@messyventura Hey I don't know you well but I saw the thing you deleted last night when I was half awake. I fell asleep worried and thought about it when I woke up and I'm glad you're okay. What a terrible experience and also the way you're talking about it makes me feel respect for you.

@Ryan__Cage @afrocosmist Oh my god this seems right. Thank you. It was like a song I liked but couldn't remember the lyrics or who it was by or how it went.

upteenth rewatch of Babylon 5, & gotta say Capt Lochley in the fifth & final season played by Tracy Scoggins was a real head scratcher on the part of JMS. maybe she just didnt get enough screen time but her defense of siding with a fascist in Earth's Civil War is unconvincing

@Ryan__Cage @afrocosmist There's a scene in some movie they watch where a Canadian little boy looks up and squints into the sun with his mouth open. One of the robots made a "hyaagh!" sound and its been making me laugh for like 30 years.

@afrocosmist I made respect these pilgrimages you run through these old shows you dig. I used to do the same thing with mst3k. Start at the public access episodes and march forward. But then got way into film collection

@afrocosmist My memories of that show are like 30 years old. Am I right that older actor who played Chekov plays a mean guy who can read your brain?

@arvofart Also I liked when he shot the Nazis and his dad goes "Look what you did! I can't believe what you just did!" and they haven't been able to make it genuinely funny like that since. Except maybe the scene where they fight in the diner.

@arvofart "Indiana? Let it go." followed by him actually doing that and making peace with his father was as good an ending to his character's story as I can imagine. It's annoying that they made it keep going.

No one should replace Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. They should stop making Indiana Jones movies. The last good one came out in 1989
ScreenRant@screenrant

On X, stand-up comedian, Steve Byrne, suggested that "There’s truly only one man that could replace Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones…@KarlUrban HE WOULD CRUSH IT." #KarlUrban commented on the post, "While I appreciate the vote of confidence-Harrison Ford IS Indiana Jones - he is irreplaceable!" @MsWOCReader Same here. Christine Taylor was a dead ringer for Maureen McCormick around the same age. I bet people watching the film for the first time in the 90s wondered if she was McCormick’s actual daughter. Google didn’t exactly exist quickly search the cast bios

@sokkekontoen Yes. I sincerely believed that men had one more rib than women until I was an adult. The education was a strange mixture of "we are the only people who are correct and worthy of existence" plus "you know how you have a body? that's a sin. Shame on you." ha

@sokkekontoen In freshman year I earned an A in "Philosophy of Origin" by writing and performing a weird Al style version of Three Dog Night's "Joy to the World". It was about how evolution makes no sense and the Grand Canyon was formed by the flood which literally happened.

@sokkekontoen I wish I still remembered the lyrics. I know "Jeremiah was a bullfrog, was a good friend of mine" became "god created Adam, a long, long time ago". There was also a line about the Earth being around 6000 years old haha.

@facetedcarapace @caitlin_mmm There was a dramatic reenactment of a sinister man cutting a screen so he could take out a kid from a bedroom that made me scared of sleeping by my window.

@TrevorOfficialR I have no strong feelings about that man but I do genuinely enjoy the contempt you have for him. If there were an internet war over Hasan Piker and I was forced to choose a side I would choose yours just because it seems like it would be a better time

@dinosaur_info @aki_st4rz3 Yes. I don't know if that show aged well and I don't really want to find out but I will always fondly remember how emotionally satisfying the montage at the end was. That Sia song still makes me feel feelings.

So I tried switching from Google to Kagi and I’m sorry to report the hype is accurate. It really is better. You don’t realize how infuriating it is for your searches to get derailed by walls of SEO & ads until it isn’t happening anyone. The search algo feels like Google used to.
