Marathon being a free to play game would have made it MUCH more popular. People don’t wanna pay 40$ to “try” out a game that gets good 10 hours in

Fuck off. I don’t have to care about your problem any more than I have to be nice to homeless bums. This societal imposition of “just because someone has a disability means they have special value” is retarded. If you’re a cool person or a nice person, I’d go to bat for you 100%. But demanding the world cater itself to how you were born abnormally in some way, is delusional.

My right to access a game supersedes your right to immersion. Accessibility options can be turned off, leaving your immersion intact. My disability cannot be switched off. Your desire to brag about beating a difficult game should not be fulfilled at the cost of people like me.

KitKat is owned by Nestlé. Nestlé is one of the most unethical companies in the world. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Nestlé wanted to grow its infant formula sales in developing countries, especially in Africa. So they came up with a strategy. They gave free baby formula to new mothers and promoted it as better than mother’s milk. At first, it seemed helpful. But it was not. The free supply lasted just long enough for many mothers to stop producing their own milk. Once it ended, they had no natural option left and had to depend on formula. But many of these mothers were poor. They could not afford to keep buying it. So they tried to stretch it by adding more water and less powder. This led to weak and undernourished babies. It got worse because many of them did not even have clean water or proper conditions to prepare the formula safely. Babies fell sick. Some even died. And Nestlé did not even provide proper instructions. No clear guidance in local languages. No support for mothers who could not read. They knew the risks. They still continued. They only reacted when Western countries protested and boycotted them. Even today, they are not fully ethical. And people still eat KitKat.

@shrinkleberry Because every time they did communicate, you had the same brain dead replies every single time or it would escalate to doxxing, death threats and just generally being cunts for no reason. That's the reason they had to make the destiny 2 team account as well

This type of communication has literally never happened from Bungie and it makes you wonder why they never bothered trying half as hard when it came to communication with D2. It's a little frustrating seeing all the effort going into Marathon while D2 was a sinking ship

@Xenoimpulse If people aren't playing the game like an extraction shooter, what would you say they are playing more like if you had to pick a strategy or genre?

My hot take is that in trios Dire Marsh needs 1-2 less teams on the map and that in solos there needs to be less people in each lobby. I know that people were complaining about a lack of PVP (on intro Perimeter) but the meta is shifting to not playing like an extraction shooter.

@OGPHEENIX i do understand coding, but you know what i dont understand? why bungie used the Tiger engine that had the same problems in D2. next you gonna say that taking 8 hours to load a map is actually very good and bungie are genius for doing that, bungie has been problematic since halo

@MasteroftheTDS Marathon and its developers have shown that they want to impress a "modern audience," which is why the developers had pronouns under their names in the promotional Marathon videos. Plus, if you look at their Steam page and expand the tags, you'll see this.

Marathon canceling those GDC panels makes a lot more sense once you read the talk title. “Delivering a high-quality, stable live-service game.” Marathon peaked under 90k on Steam while Arc Raiders hit 465k, and the game is already taking heat over microtransactions and thin endgame. I’m hearing from a source on the GDC expo floor that Bungie is scrambling right now to get things resolved, and the consensus around Marathon on the floor isn’t great. Standing on stage to give that talk this week probably would have gone very badly.

@MasteroftheTDS It’s unfinished too. They told Reviewers to hold their judgement till another map is released. They didn’t even complete a whole 4 maps. 3rd Map Outpost had an exploit they didn’t know and they had to shut a portion of the map down.

@RawWilson1 So it's okay to support a game that steals people's faces for AI ads, because you can goon to it and ignore the issues. But a game that stole a few decals, rectified the mistake and settled with the artist deserves to be ridiculed 6 months later?
