"You’re going to get your ass kicked at some point. You have to pick yourself off the mat at some point. And I really don’t know how that guy [who hasn’t been in a fight] is going to respond." On John Harbaugh, Joe Schoen and the @Giants' new regime. si.com/nfl/architects…

If Dallas stays put at 12 - this is where Ourlads had them going in last week's mock. It seems early on the surface for Thieneman but when you stack the grades of each component to the position next to Caleb Downs - not sure how anyone can argue they're right next to each other grade wise.

@Ourlads_Sy Bain is a total outlier. You don't draft outliers 5th overall. NFL Draft media is in love with him but that means nothing. He's going to get worked by NFL Tackles. This isn't the ACC anymore. Measurables matter.

One discussion I don't see often in regard to NYG at #5 overall? If Rueben Bain Jr. is available (I'd say 50/50 as of now) - how do you pass on him? Kayvon Thibodeaux is likely in his final year with NYG, Bain can play multiple positions on the line, and he fits into what Harbaugh has been discussing when it comes to running the ball and stopping the run.

@enosarris Are you buying what Jordan Walker is selling? What's his upside if everything clicks this season?

I’m told Rutgers teammates Kenny Fletcher (tight end) and Cam Miller (defensive back) are also among those local prospects participating with Giants today, per sources
Art Stapleton@art_stapleton

Giants local Pro Day is today Texas A&M guard Chase Bisontis, a former star at Don Bosco in play on back end of Round 1 and early Round 2, is expected in the building. Quarterbacks Derek Robertson (Monmouth) and Athan Kaliakmanis (Rutgers) among the prospects invited.

UPDATE: Letters from Leo can now independently confirm that the meeting took place — and that the Vatican was so alarmed by the Pentagon’s tactics that Pope Leo XIV shelved plans to visit the United States later this year. Many in the Vatican saw the Pentagon’s reference to an Avignon papacy as a threat to use military force against the Holy See.
Christopher Hale@ChristopherHale

NEW: A stunning new report claims that the Pentagon summoned Pope Leo XIV’s top American diplomat and threatened him after the U.S.-born pontiff gave his January state-of-the-world address. Leo used the address to denounce a world ruled by “a diplomacy based on force” and “zeal for war.” thelettersfromleo.com/p/the-pentagon…

Wide Receiver DT Sheffield out of Rutgers ran a 4.41 forty with a 42" vertical - impressive but nothing special That 3.98 short shuttle though....? That is all-time great.

Steelers Calvin Austin III is my favorite Free Agent nobody's discussing Victim of Circumstances Ascending player entering '25. Produced decent numbers in '24 with abysmal QB play Then arrives Arthur Smith & Aaron Rodgers. Smith has an infatuation with multiple TE sets and never utilized Calvin Austin in the slot or as a move piece. Rodgers doesn't love pre snap motion. Plus? Austin had a bit of the Garrett Wilson conundrum. Rodgers enamored with DK Metcalf. Similar to how he barely looked at Garrett Wilson after Davante Adams arrived with Jets. Go compare Calvin Austin's athletic testing numbers to Wan'Dale Robinson. Austin is bigger, faster & quicker. Calvin Austin was a Walk on at Memphis. Rookie season derailed by injury. On the right track and an ascending player. Then a scheme shift and new QB arrived. Calvin Austin will be to his next team what Robert Woods was to the Rams or Golden Tate to Lions. The Hidden Gem of the FA Market.

@rydunleavy Disagree. Consider the opportunity cost of who *wasn't* drafted that yr. Wandale taken in the 2nd Rd before Alec Pierce, James Cook & Nik Bonitto. Bellinger Rd 4 over Romeo Doubs, Isaiah Likely & Zach Tom. McFadden over Shakir, Allgeier, & Woolen in Rd 5.

On my mind... #Giants 2022 draft class turned out pretty good, depth-wise. Huge miss on Evan Neal. If he was Charles Cross, home run. But Kayvon, Wan'Dale, Flott, Bellinger, McFadden are all quality NFL players. Belton could be with more opportunity. Credit Chris Pettit who did a nice job in his last draft before he was let go. For all the talk about how hard it is for a new GM and coaching staff to work with inherited scouts, that's Joe Schoen's best draft class right now.
